Microwaves are pretty user-friendly.
Usually the buttons are fairly standard and self-explanatory, like “defrost,” or “reheat,” and can even be specific to types of foods that should be heated using specific settings.
So when one Twitter user discovered a troubling button, a bit of panic ensued:
why does my microwave have a CHAOS MODE pic.twitter.com/feV8M6uxQx

If that wasn’t the button you noticed, then it was most certainly “Jacket Potatoes:”
Everyone deserves to look and feel stylish in the manner of their choosing

People wanted to see the button in action:
Press it and you’ll find out. We’ll all find out.

A kindly Redditor explained what “chaos defrost” means, since apparently most people were puzzled:
Or, basically:
Its because the microwaves are applied in random pulses for statistically more even distribution of energy to a wide variety of items.

Still, the name is a bit alarming:
Happy microwaving, everyone!
