Puppy mills are full dogs that are forced to over breed, leaving a lot of pups, who are just waiting for someone to rescue them. unfortunately, sometimes they never get rescued. In other cases, it just takes a really long time for someone to finally whisk them away. That’s exactly what happened for this dog when it took 11 years for her to finally sleep in a real bed!

It took 11 years for this poor pup to finally sleep in a real bed. On top of that, she was in horrible condition.
Lily came to Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet show on Animal Planet, as what they call “a priority medical dog.” These are dogs that come to the clinic in the worst shape.
Unfortunately, Lily wasn’t doing very well. The horrible care at the puppy mill left her with painful soars all over her body.
Once they gave Lily a bath, it was clear just how bad the soars were. At least now she’s in good hands.
The staff gently washes Lily, careful not to disturb the painful soars. It’s devastating to see this kind of treatment for such a beautiful dog.
“She’s very shutdown, she has soars all over her body. We need to be able to see where they are and what they look like. It’s just revealing more and more soars all over her body, not really sure what that is.” Said one staff member while giving Lily a bath.
After they clean Lily up, they make sure to dry her really well to help with the soars. She then sees Dr. Jeff so he can asses them.
After a nice bath, Lily is put in a big dryer. When the pups have sores like Lily’s, they do their best to take it easy on them so they don’t disturb the wounds.
Next she’ll went to see Dr Jeff, he finds way more problems then just the soars.
Dr. Jeff finds an ulcer in Lily’s eye, and an abscess on her foot. Don’t worry he’s going to fix her all up!
Dr. Jeff finds a few more problems with Lily’s health, like an ulcer in her eye, but luckily she’s in good hands! This is what he’s known for, he’ll take great care of her!
The best part is what happened next! After Lilly got all cleaned up, she saw something she’s never seen before, a bed! Her reaction is priceless.
When Lily finally gets her own bed after 11 years, she hardly even knows what to do with it, but she finally lies down!
Lily walked around the bed anxiously for a few moments before slowly making her way to the bed. The way she plays with the idea is too cute!
Finally after 11 years, Lily lays down for a nap in her very own bed!
