Puppy siblings meet by chance and instantly recognize each other
For two dog owners in the UK, what had begun as a regular walk in the park with their two pups turned into a heartwarming reunion for two separated siblings.

If you’ve ever gotten a furry friend from a litter there’s always that passing thought wondering what would happen if they ever saw one of their siblings again or if they would even remember. Two pups in England are showing the world a truly touching moment of what can happen when separated siblings are reunited by chance on a stroll with their parents.

Monty, a black cockapoo, was walking with his Dad, Dave, when Rosie, a white cockapoo, was walking with her Mom, Susan. Usually, when we are passing others while out walking or jogging there’s always at least a nice exchange of a smile or wave. But for these two pups and their owners, it was not a normal exchange, and thankfully for us a user on Twitter, Libby Pincher, shared the heartwarming moment with the world! The original moment was actually shared with Libby from her father who shared his friend Daves’s special moment with his dog Monty. Libby then proceeded to share a screenshot from her family group message and the adorable pictures to go along on Twitter. The text message reads,

“So, Dave was out walking his dog, and there was a couple walking towards him with a white version of his dog. Turns out they are brother and sister from the same litter. But instead of just playing like they do with other dogs, look at this”

When the dogs first saw each other they began rushing towards one another. Once close enough they jumped into a loving embrace wrapping their paws around one another.

As the dogs embraced in being reuniting in each other’s presence once more their human parents realized there was something more going on so they started talking. After chatting for some time they realized the puppies had indeed come from the same litter but were separated when they were adopted by different families. Those families being each other. Although only 10 months have passed these separated siblings proved that they can still recognize each other.

Another story about our furry friends that warms the heart and soul. Proving to us that our pets are more than what meets the eye. But when Libby shared this touching moment on Twitter many users responded with their thoughts such as these below.

If you were thinking the same as these users there is good news! In an interview with BoredPanda Rosie’s mom, Susan Killip shared that she and Dave actually already know each other. Susan and Dave live near each other but in different villages and due to COVID-19 and work commitments, they haven’t been able to catch up. They are hoping soon that when were are allowed to go out again they will get the chance to reunite these separated siblings once more for their birthdays.

“…it’s nearly Rosie and Monty’s 1st birthday, hopefully we can do something to celebrate it together.”

As the sharing of this story continued more and more users started sharing that they’ve experienced the same thing their own dogs!

Another user shared that her 5-month-old rottweiler and his brother do the same thing when they reunite. She shared a picture that shows their first visit after they had been separated for 3 months.

Luckily for us, another user shared her knowledge that scientists have proven that dogs olfactory senses, or sense of smell, allow them to smell their own relations.
