Life doesnโt always go the way that you think it will.
Unfortunately, itโs normal for us to be thrown a little off-balance sometimes. We lose people we love, we wind up in challenging situations, and sometimes, all we need is some love and compassion.

More specifically, there are dogs, cats, and many other animals in the world who end up without a loving home. Conversely, there are a lot of people who end up losing their beloved pets.
While these things are saddening, there is some great news.
Sometimes, things fool you and end up working out.

Steve Grieg is a man from Colorado who loves pets. He always had animals in his home. It was normal for him.

He grew up with lots of animals and it was a lifestyle that he took with him as he grew to be an adult. He has a lot of outdoor space on his property, so he makes sure to take in a handful of animals at a time. He knows he has enough space to fit all of them and for them to live a happy life.
Itโs usually all love and smilesโฆ Until one day, one of Steveโs dogs passed away.

This passing, in particular, really got Steve down in the dumps. He was in full-on grieving mode.
Good karma alert!

Even a man who has tons of pets in his home has to eventually deal with losing one of them.
It was not an ideal situation, but luckily, it looked like things eventually began to turn around for Steve. It was around that time his dog passed that he decided to take a trip to the local shelter to ask for their โleast adoptableโ dog.

โSo [I adopted] a 12-year-old Chihuahua [named Eeyore] with a heart murmur and four bad knees and I brought him home and that was just the beginning of all the animals,โ the man told The Dodo.
And that Chihuahua was just the catalyst for what was about to come next. Soon, Steve went on to adopt several more animals, reaching up to 10 senior dogs in his home. That is surely no small feat, even for die-hard dog lovers!

The best part is that this story doesnโt even end with dogs. Steve began to adopt all sorts of animals: two pigeons, two ducks, and a pig named Bikini.
Steve even noticed a rabbit whoโd been hanging around his yard, so he also took the rabbit in, who ended up being very relaxed and easy to get along with around other animals.

โTheyโre just wiser animals. You kind of know what you want out of life once you become a certain age. These dogs know who they are and itโs easy to develop a relationship with a person or pet who knows who they are,โ Steve said.

He added:
โThey just make it feel like home. Itโs just fulfilling knowing that these guys are happy and loved and well-taken care of. It makes my days worthwhile.โ

Steve eventually went on to create an Instagram page for his โwolf gang,โ which has gained hundreds of thousands of followers.
Everyone loves to see the joy. Turns out things can work out, and everyone wins in the end!
