Motorcyclists have a reputation to uphold. They’re often seen as no-nonsense men and women who rock some pretty awesome attire.
You might not want to get on their bad side!
But at the end of the day, they’re human too. They may look tough on the outside but I’m sure there are plenty of bikers out there who are just as loving and giving as anybody else.
Case and point?
A biker from Belgium named Quentin Leroy.
Leroy was riding his motorcycle along the highway when he came across a stranded kitten in the middle of the road.
From the camera footage, the kitten was just a tiny speck on the road that could have easily been overlooked. Had he blinked, he just might have missed her or even worse, struck her.
As Leroy zooms down the highway at a speed of 85mph, he narrowly misses the kitten.
“No!” he yelled in the video.
He immediately pulled over to take the little kitten out of harms way. He and another driver pull onto the side of the road and begin running towards the kitten while diverting oncoming traffic around it.
Leroy told The Dodo:
“I was shocked. I screamed out, ‘No! There’s a little cat in the middle of the road!'”
Leroy picks up the scared kitten and handles her gently with his black, biker gloves. The kitten is shaking and almost takes off as he scoops her up.
The kitten looks around her surroundings clearly still shaken from being in the middle of the street with constant oncoming traffic. But Leroy pets her gently and speaks to her in a soft tone.
The wide-eyed kitten looks to him and appears to relax in his hands.
Leroy and the other concerned driver converse back and forth over what to do with their new ginger-haired friend.
“What are you doing here?” Leroy can be heard asking the tiny kitten.
Leroy reveals that he is allergic to kittens and wouldn’t be able to take the kitten with him because he is on a motorcycle. But he is concerned about the kitten and wants to make sure she is taken somewhere safe.
That’s when he and the driver decide it’s best if he drove the kitten in his car. They both agree that a shelter would be the safest place for her.
Leroy posted the video on his Youtube channel where the video has garnered over 400,000 views. But it seems to have taken on a life of it’s own on Facebook.
There, the video has been viewed over two million times, has over 38,000 reactions, and has been shared over 42,000 times.
Most of the comments are from grateful individuals thanking the biker and the driver for pulling over and taking responsibility for the kitten.
Lucky for all, this story has a beautiful ending.
The kitten was given the name, Silky, and was adopted by the family of the man who helped Leroy get the kitten to safety!
How awesome is that?
Thanks to the big hearts of these two good samaritans, Silky now has a home and a family. Not to mention a slew of faithful fans.
