If youโre the proud owner of an iPhone, there are certain settings these Apple experts recommend you turn off โ like, ASAP.
By doing so you can actually improve battery life and create an overall more positive experience with your cell phone. These 7 tips not only make sense, but theyโre simple to follow as well.

Not all of us are wizards when it comes to technology. Fortunately, David and David from Payette Forward are. Theyโre here to guide us through getting our iPhones into tip-top, battery-saving shape!
iPhone Analytics
This setting actually sends information to Apple, which according to David, โdrains your battery and presents a privacy issue about how you use your phone.โ The reason is to help Apple improve โ yet, the guys still recommend you turn the analytics off.
To do so, open โSettingsโ on your phone. Then scroll to โPrivacyโ followed by โAnalytics.โ Now youโll be able to turn off โShare iPhone Analytics.โ

iCloud Analytics
This is in the same location as the iPhone Analytics in the previous tip. While youโre there, turn this setting off too. Itโs a similar data collecting feature that will affect your battery life.

Significant Locations
This setting uses GPS to help track your locations โ which allows it to โdeliver relevant advertising to you.โ The reason David says is to โmake your experience betterโ โ but itโs not necessary.
Hereโs how to turn it off. Go to โPrivacyโ again in the โSettingsโ app. Next, find โLocation Services,โ then scroll to โSystem Services.โ This is where youโll find โSignificant Locations.โ Now just tap it off.

Almost Everything in System Services
If youโre looking to save your battery, this will help do the trick. These services are always running when turned on โ which can affect it. So, simply turn some of them off.
Go back to โSystem Servicesโ on your iPhone. Here, youโre going to select only a few settings to leave on. The expert recommends that you KEEP โEmergency Calls & SOS,โ โFind My iPhone,โ and โShare My Location.โ
Other than those you probably wonโt miss the rest, so turn them off. However, be sure to watch the video below to hear what David and David say about them all โ just to be sure!

Limit Ad Tracking
If you value your privacy, then this is a good setting to actually click โon.โ Head back to โPrivacyโ and scroll to find โAdvertising.โ Hereโs where youโll click, โLimit Ad Tracking.โ
David explains:
โThis really prevents advertisers from tracking you as you use your iPhone connected to the internet and they track you from site, to site, to site, to site โ and get more information about you.โ
Fetch New Data
If youโre someone who doesnโt need to know at every moment if thereโs a new email, this is a brilliant tip that will help save your battery life. Start back at โSettingsโ and click on โPasswords and Accounts.โ Now go to โFetch New Data.โ
This is where youโll make sure that โPushโ is turned off. Instead, change your accounts to โFetchโ and set up how often you want your iPhone to look for new information like emails.
In the video, David has his set to every 15 minutes. Be sure to watch for more details on this setting!

Background App Refresh (for certain apps)
The expert says, โBackground App Refresh allows certain apps to download data in the background even when youโre not using them.โ This isnโt necessary for all the apps you have, and you probably wonโt notice any difference.
Go to the โSettingsโ screen and tap on โGeneral.โ Then go to โBackground App Refresh.โ Youโll next go through the list and select the ones you donโt need this feature for (turning them off).
As for David, he chooses to keep apps like โNewsโ and โEspnโ on โ but not some others he doesnโt need constantly updated.
