Although it’s fun to watch all kinds of sports, one that captivates just about everyone is gymnastics. Not only are there many different components involved but also, gymnasts make their hard work look so easy. Even at a young age, gymnasts require a great deal of discipline, strength, stamina, and devotion.
A viral performance
In 2016, a video of three young girls performing a gymnastic routine went viral. It was so compelling that people around the world watched it. To date, it’s been viewed more than 18 million times. That’s how good they are.
Looking the part
In spite of their athleticism, gymnasts must have a certain look. That includes wearing cool costumes, having just the right amount of makeup on, and putting their hair up so it’s out of the way. At the beginning of the video, that’s what you see…someone helping them get ready before they perform.
Taking their place
Next, you see the girls’ entire troupe walk to the center of the acrobatic floor. The crowd anxiously waits for them to begin. Even when watching the video, you can feel the excitement build.
Three young girls
Taking center stage are three young girls. Wearing black and pink leotards, they look poised and focused. In the meantime, the stadium is packed with people. And they have to complete their routine in front of a large panel of judges. No pressure, right?
Starting position
The girls head toward the center of the floor before sitting down. Then, they pull their knees up to their chests and bow their heads while the audience erupts in applause. They’re all set.
Perfect synchronization
Performing to the song, “Don’t Let Go” by Polina, these girls work in perfect unison to the strokes of the violins. They haven’t even done anything outstanding yet but they’ve already grabbed everyone’s attention with their ability. But things only get better.
Pulling out all the stops
As an acrobatic piece, there are numerous gymnastic elements to the routine. In the early part of the video, they pull off their first amazing trick. With the tallest girl lying on the floor, the two smaller ones build a type of pyramid. It’s stunning.
They’re not finished
Next, the two larger girls pick the smallest one up by the arms and carry her several feet. The entire time, all three are smiling from ear to ear. These girls might be young but they’re true performers.
Simply incredible
Throughout the more than three-minute routine, these three girls don’t disappoint. At one point, they stop almost directly in front of the judges’ table to do yet another difficult move. And they look spectacular.
Shining stars
Although these gymnasts didn’t take first place, they should be very proud of their third-place win. They nailed every element of their routine and did so with grace. During their performance, the crowd tried to remain calm but at times, they couldn’t hold back.
Even with the routine complete, the girls walked off the floor smiling. There’s no question they put in a tremendous amount of time to perfect this piece.
