Unusual pairings, like chicken and waffles, or doggy and ferret BFFs, might seem out of place in a world that likes to stick to the rules.
But where’s the fun in that? Chicken and waffles taste absolutely divine, and doggy-ferret duos are proof that nature loves to color outside of the lines!
And so begins the adventures of Nova, a big-‘n-goofy German Shepherd, and Pacco, her feisty ferret friend.
It seriously can’t get any more adorable than this!
1. Playin’ dead on the first date
One could probably say it was love at first sight when Nova and Pacco first met. But perhaps it was more like: “Don’t die on me bruh! You still haven’t paid for your part of the dinner check!”
In her heyday, Nova got to mingle with all sorts of animals, like cats, rats, and parrots. But, when she caught sight of Pacco, that was it – she had finally met the true BFF of her life!
These two crazies are practically joined at the neck. They never leave each others sight, which means they get double the bonus miles any time they travel together!
It’s not always fun getting older, especially for dogs who tend to age in lump sums of 7. But for Pacco, every birthday is a reminder to celebrate what time they do have together!
Sometimes friends are so close to each other, they make up a language only they can understand. Other times, it’s actions that speak louder than words.
Trying to survive in the wild can be super tough when you’re just as soft and domesticated as humans. But these two friends have made a pact that if the other one gets hungry, gnawing on each other is not totally off-limits.
11. Friends that sleep together also take baths together.
Pacco never has to worry about drowning since Nova can’t seem to keep her nose out of his biz. But that’s okay because that actually makes it really easy to grab a doggy booger snacks!
Soaking up the rays while relaxing in the grass is one of the best parts about having a BFF by your side. There’s also the fact that Nova makes a really good portable pillow.
Sometimes when you eat, sleep, and breathe each other 24/7, it can take a toll on your friendship. Especially when your BFF doesn’t understand why you hate it when he jams his whole foot down your earhole!
Throwback Thursday photos like this show Nova and Pacco at the very beginning of their blossoming friendship. This tender moment in particular depicts the very first time they shared their lice with each other.
Ferrets are natural-born killers and can hunt prey 5 times their size. Lucky for Nova, she’s 6 times his size, so Pacco has to settle for mossy grubs instead.
Time always seems to go by much faster when your best bud is just as sick as you are. And we all know that friends that freely give their cooties to you are the best kind to have around!
Sometimes things can get lost in translation when your bestie tries to whisper sweet nothings into your ears. Especially when it sounds like he want to order some Pizza Rat for dinner.
You know you’ve made a friend for life when they help you bury the 5 mice you’ve just serial-killed. Those are the sort of pals you want to bring home to mom for dinner.
