Life can throw us some curveballs. Life’s surprises are sometimes wonderful and well-timed — other times those surprises are tragic and devastating. When you have people around that you love — it helps make those times more tolerable.
We hear it everywhere and all the time — that “life is short.” That short phrase is intended to be a reminder that it is important to live every day to the fullest because you never know when it could end.
It’s easy to take that phrase for granted or keep it on the forefront of our minds. Our day-to-day struggles make it seem like our days are long and mundane. The truth is — we wake up one day and wonder where the month, the year, or the decade went!
A tragedy in the family can be a stark and vivid reminder of that short little phrase. Moments like a death in the family can make you want to squeeze your loved ones tight and be so grateful for that very moment.
A man had recently lost his wife of 63 years — he was understandably devastated. As he was grieving his wife, another tragedy struck — his dog also died 4 months later. The man was shocked and now felt more alone than ever.
His family could sense their grandfather’s emotional pain and could tell that he was feeling lonely and sad.
It was breaking their heart to see him like that — they felt horrible for what he had recently gone through.
After thinking about ways they could possibly bring some happiness back into his life, they figured out the perfect plan — they were going to get him a puppy. It’s almost impossible to be sad or upset if a puppy is around!
The family enters Grandpa’s house and they tell him that they have a gift for him that should keep him company. As he turns around to see his present he breaks down with emotion.
His eyes filled with tears of happiness.
He’s sitting in his chair, stroking his new adorable puppy picked out by his granddaughter — obviously still in shock! His family lets him know that he’s not alone anymore and he has a new friend to hang out with.
It was clearly love at first sight for this Grandpa and his new little puppy. They decided on naming the little baby “Snoopy.” It really doesn’t get any cuter than that.
This incredibly touching moment just needs to be witnessed for yourself.
