Some people don’t actually realize the impact that bullying has on one’s psyche.

Those harsh words stick with people and affect their lives long after they’ve stopped interacting with their bullies.

And someone who has been bullied usually never forgets their bullies. Louisa Manning was harshly bullied over her weight and was called “hairy” and a “manbeast” by her classmates when she was 12-years-old.

Louisa suffered from eating disorders and a lack of confidence because of bullying.

But Louisa overcame that and grew up to be a beautiful woman.

Recently, one of the most satisfying things that could happen to a bullied person happened to Lousia.

One of her bullies asked her out on a date.

But Louisa was actually pretty pissed off about it.

The 22-year-old, who attends Oxford University, says she bumped into her bully at a university ball and he eventually reached out to her on Facebook.

Louisa found this to be highly ironic since her bully used to make fun of her for “being ugly” when she attended her Cambridgeshire school.

“I was pretty pissed off he asked me out, to be honest,” she said. “It really made me angry that now I’m attractive, he instantly wants to jump into bed with me.”

Was Louisa going to be the bigger person and call this man out and explain how he hurt her when she was growing up?

Nope… she was going to get petty about it.

She decided that she would seek her revenge in a hilarious way. She actually accepted his invitation and agreed to meet him at a restaurant.

“My gut instinct was to say no. But then I realised what a brilliant opportunity it was, and after bouncing ideas off a friend for a few hours, we came up with an idea,” Louisa said.

Instead of actually sitting through the date, Louisa got there early and handed the waitress a photo of her younger bullied self and note to give to her former bully.

Here’s what her note said:

“So sorry I can’t join you tonight.

Remember year 8, when I was fat and you made fun of my weight? No? I do – I spent the following three years eating less than an apple a day. So I’ve decided to skip dinner. Remember the monobrow you mocked? The hairy legs you were disgusted by? Remember how every day for three years, you and your friends called me Manbeast? No, perhaps you don’t – or you wouldn’t have seen how I look eight years later and deemed me fuckable enough to treat me like a human being.”

“I thought I’d send you this as a reminder. Next time you think of me, picture that girl in this photo because she’s the one who just stood you up. – Louisa.”

How’s that for an in-your-face?

One thing that didn’t occur to Louisa was that people grow up, change and mature.

That’s why she was shocked when she received an apology from the former bully after she posted a photo of the picture and note on Facebook.

Still, she wasn’t completely satisfied with the apology.

“I was shocked, I actually got an apology,” she said. “It’s 10 years too late and really if he’d intended to apologize he should have done so when I bumped into him last weekend rather than asking me out for dinner first, but it’s still an apology and it’s still amazing I got one.”

Here’s what he had to say for himself:

“For what it’s worth, I was actually here to meet up looking for a chance to meet up looking to make friends, not because you are very good looking. I guess I had it coming though, and certainly don’t blame you for standing me up. I can’t change who I was 8 years ago, and I won’t insult your intelligence by pretending that it didn’t happen, but I hope you believe me when I say I’m a completely different person now. I can only apologise and wish you the very best. I guess I won’t hear from you again but I mean it when I say that I hope you have every success you deserve.”
