There’s nothing more unpleasant than coming out to your pool for a swim and seeing a poor little creature floating face down after drowning.
This most commonly happens to frogs, lizards, bats, chipmunks, birds, squirrels, mice, and other small animals.
While it’s easy for these little critters to hop into the pool, it’s harder for them to get out. Unfortunately, once they do they get it they end up drowning or dying in the pool’s filter system.
Thanks to the FrogLog, you may never have to pull another tiny animal corpse out of your pool again.
The FrogLog is a tiny inflatable island that attaches to the side of a pool and has a walkway that small animals can use to climb back onto land.
Animals can easily grab on to the platform’s attached mesh skirt. A pouch with weights makes sure the FrogLog sits securely on the pool’s edge. Once the animal grabs on, they just walk right up the mesh ramp to safety. The FrogLog supports animals that are up to one pound.
Animals usually circle the edge of the pool but they don’t have anything to latch on to climb out. That was before the FrogLog.
The FrogLog was created by wildlife biologist Rich Mason who wanted to create a solution for his friends who would continually find deceased animals inside their pool, according to The Dodo.
He started selling the FrogLog out of his garage, but after a few years of research and development now has a website to sell his official product.
“It just killed me that these frogs were dying,” Mason said, according to Mother Nature Network. “Being a wildlife biologist, I thought, this doesn’t seem right.”
The FrogLog’s website says it is more than 98 percent effective, easy to use, and helps keep your pool water clean by eliminating bacteria from animals. They even offer a 110 percent money back guarantee.
And customers say they are loving their FrogLogs.
“I just wanted to let you know, this is working great,” said Lonnie S., according to their website. “We weren’t sure at first but it’s been four weeks and we have had no snakes or frogs getting trapped in our skimmer basket. I put the FrogLog right beside where the water filter is.”
Their website recommends one to two FrogLogs for a pool that is 15′ x 30′ and five to eight for a pool that’s larger than 50′ to 80′.
You can get yourself a FrogLog for $22.99. Mason says the FrogLog isn’t about making money, he’s barely breaking even. He just dosesn’t want to see poor frogs die each summer.
“My main goal is to have it more widely uses,” Mas said. “It’s doing some good.”
