People these days are simply tired of too much fatigue and exhaustion in life, and to relieve themselves from the utter distress of everyday hurdles, nothing sounds more tempting than a sweet video of animal innocence, right?
It does not matter the kind of animal; all that matters is the cute acts they do. And today, we have something exactly like that for you to enjoy and watch.
In a video shared by the Denver Zoo, a furry and cute tiny cub was playing within his enclosure in the Zoo. While he was having a time of his life, his lion daddy Tobias – as named by the Zoo – crouched down to interact with his boy for the first time.
The adult lion saw his young boy (and successor to his throne :) ) for the first time and his reaction has won over the internet. The daddy lion crouched down to his curled-up cub and showed a sweet gesture that will leave you in awe.
People who watched the video were ecstatic about the 2-year old dad lion’s behavior towards his young cub.
According to the staff at Predator Ridge in Denver Zoo, the lion cub was born on July 25 of this year. Since then, he has been trying to make a bond with his mom, dad, and half-sister at the Zoo.
The Lioness name is Neliah and his half-sister is named Kamara by the Zoo staff. But what is so appealing and touchy about this video? Well, lions do not really mesh well with their young male cubs, but Tobias behaved very differently. That is where he scored lots of fans over the ‘World Wide Web.’
The cute cub will soon make his public debut at the Zoo’s outdoor habitat for lions.
“He’s all the things you might expect of a lion cub: playful, curious and energetic!” expresses Jake Kubie, who is the director of communications at Denver Zoo.
The video of the dad lion playing with his cub is a part of the Zoo’s regular update show on YouTube titled the “cubdates.” The young cub is not named yet, and the Zoo has been trying to raise funds for lions in the Zoo and outside by publicly inviting to vote a name for the young cub.
There are two names given by the Zoo: Meru and Moremi. Meru is the name of a mountain in Tanzania, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro and fifth highest in overall Africa. Moremi, on the other hand, is the name of a game reserve in Botswana, and Tatu, a Swahili word for the number three.
Would you like to give your own vote as well? You can do here on the Denver zoo voting page!
“Everyone is extremely excited and anxious to pay him a visit once he makes his public debut,” Mr. Kubie said.
As you carry on watching the video, you will not only see the cub getting to know his dad, but also playing with another female lion in the family who is not his mother. His elder half-sister Kamara will be seen babysitting her young brother like an affectionate elder sister.
