This story is about a cow named Emma and how she was rescued from being sent to a slaughter house.
There is this viral video that will get anyone’s attention. The reason for this is because it’s not everyday that we see a cow cry. This isn’t for any amusement or even a trick, it’s all about the life that this cow has seen.
Animals have feelings, they can feel sadness, fear, happiness, and even stress. The moment Emma, the milking cow stepped on the trailer, she started to act differently. The was agitated and terrified. She seems to understand what getting into a trailer meant and she knew that cows like her will end up somewhere terrible.
Emma was a dairy cow and just like any other cows in farms, she only knew a tough life. As we all know, these cows are best known for producing high quality milk and all of the associated dairy products such as cheese.
For these cows to be able to produce the demand of milk, they are must first become pregnant but as soon as they have given birth, their poor little calves are taken away from them. Their milk harvested for milk and its by-products. It’s a tough life and if you think it will not get any worse – you’re wrong.
Most cows who no longer have the ability to produce milk or will no longer have a place in the farm are brought to slaughterhouses where they finally meet their end.
In this video, Emma knew that there was something wrong. Her eyes were not just sad, they were terrified. At the start of the video, you can clearly see tears falling down – Emma was crying.
The trailer stopped and Emma was shocked to see an open field!
With an unexpected turn of events, Emma was rescued and was brought to Kuhrettung Rhein-Berg Sanctuary in Germany to live. Her eyes, wide open to see that there was this lush green field in front of her, waiting for her to run free!
Emma slowly walked as if examining how beautiful the place was, she was a bit hesitant but her eyes are now very different. It had a glow of hope and even without words, you’d know how surprised she was.
After a few minutes, some other cows came up to her, as if welcoming her and reassuring her that this is all true.
They started sniffing each other out, started communicating. It was such a beautiful sight to see! Soon, you’ll see Emma already being so happy walking side by side with her new found family.
A place to call home. This was the first time that Emma finally felt what it was like to be in a place where she’s not needed to produce milk. A place where she can walk, eat, and rest! She was finally able to enjoy the beautiful pasture of nature.
Along with her new friends, Emma will sure have a good life. No more crying for you, dear Emma.
