Charlotte hospital gave premature babies adorable costumes for Halloween
Preemies of the Carolinas along with Capturing Hopes made the most beautiful set up for these babies so they can celebrate Halloween for the first time.

“A premature baby may look tiny but don’t underestimate the courage and determination of a baby that was born too soon.”

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or what we call NICU can be a sad place for some. In most cases, these babies are fighting for their lives but their strength is admirable. For the parents and families of these children, words aren’t enough to describe the pain and longing that they feel.

However, the NICU at Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital were in for a very cute and adorable surprise!

If you think that only big kids get to celebrate Halloween and gets to wear fun and awesome costumes, well, these preemie children will show just how awesome they are as they celebrate their first Halloween!

Preemies of the Carolinas gave the hospital some adorable Halloween costumes for all their preemie patients and with the help of Capturing Hopes, the photos that have surfaced online captured the hearts of many!

Preemies of the Carolinas is a non-profit organization that will help children of both North and South Carolina who will have to stay in children’s hospitals.

Their organization was founded last 2015 and they aim to provide assistance to children with their homemade items such as primarily clothing needs, inspirational hearts, crocheted hats, and even blankets.

They now currently provide home-made clothing and even care packages to NICUs all over North and South Carolina. They also have countless volunteers who are willing to help in creating their various home-made items that are being made out of love!

We can see superheroes such as Wonder woman, Batman, and Superman. We also have pumpkins, carrots, bunnies, fairies and butterflies. Don’t forget princesses and cartoon characters and oh, those M&M’s were really cute too!

This day was different; this day was all about celebration! To celebrate each child who is fighting for his or her health, each child who shows us that strength and courage lies within their tiny bodies, and to celebrate a small event with big hopes and gestures of love through these costumes.

These children know that they are much loved!

Their idea was absolutely wonderful! Even these beautiful preemies were able to get into the celebration of Halloween with these amazing custom-made Halloween costumes! Each one made with love, each one perfect for these tiny heroes. The parents of these children were as happy as the staff of the hospitals.

Capturing Hopes did an amazing job photographing these babies. Photographers April Bentley of April Bentley-Photography and Deneen Bryan with Hazel Grace Photography were able to capture these stunning moments for all of us to enjoy.

The NICU at Spartanburg Regional was also celebrating their 2nd annual Halloween party and they too posted a series of photos to mark this very special occasion.

“The NICU stay is never easy for the families,” they wrote in their Facebook post. “But it is our hope that this was a bright spot in their day!
