Everyone who has a fur baby knows that their animal is really like a baby. With Gunnar the bulldog, this was precisely the case, but then their first human baby was born, and everything changed for Gunnar.
He was the first one to know about her pregnancy and lived for it.
Gunnar would lie on his mom’s belly while she was pregnant and would wait to feel the baby’s kick. He would get super excited when the baby did kick, and it was a way for them to bond even before he was born.
Then the day came where Wyatt was born, and immediately when they brought him home, Gunnar knew what he was going to have to do. Big brother mode kicked on, and he knew he had to take care of his human baby brother.
Gunnar made sure Wyatt was always okay and even taught him a few things too.
Whenever the mom, Samantha, would be busy cleaning dishes or something around the house, Gunnar would watch Wyatt like a hawk in his swing. Not only would Gunnar watch Wyatt make sure he was okay, but he also taught him how to use the stairs!
The parents say Wyatt and Gunnar have a bond like no other, almost like they are talking to each other in their unique language. They do everything together from painting, taking a bath, and even sitting on their dad’s lap! The parents acknowledge Gunnar just wants to do everything Wyatt does.
The day did come where another brother was added to the mix.
Then came baby Lachlan, and when he was born, Gunnar knew what he had to do again. He picked up the role of the responsible big brother and looked after his new baby brother just the way he looked over Wyatt when he was born.
Gunnar is extremely protective over them and knows their babies, so is super gentle with them as well. He wants to do everything with his brothers, and his family just adores him.
The family especially enjoys Gunnar’s silly side; for example, he loves to swim but needs a life vest because he is quite the dense boy. However, if the family says anything about swimming, he will run straight to the door, wanting to swim.
This family knows their bulldog won’t be around forever, so they make the most of now.
The family does everything together, and with Gunnar being their first baby, they try to always include him in everything they do. Knowing your fur baby isn’t going to live forever is a hard realization, but making the most out of their time with us is priceless.
Gunnar is a unique bulldog, and his family knows that, and they cherish him immensely. He has been such a vital part of their lives and an amazing older brother; we hope to see Gunnar live for a long, long time and get to see his brothers grow up.
