When you go to the zoo, you always hope you’ll see one of the animals doing something unique. Going to the zoo, in general, is such a remarkable experience. In this video, we get to see an adorable baby panda get fed and burped by the zookeeper.
The video starts with the cute baby panda hugging the zookeeper’s leg.
We get to see the baby panda holding on to the zookeeper’s leg, knowing what is about to go down since the zookeeper is holding the bottle. In the background, you can hear all the zoo-goers and children squealing in excitement.
Soon, the zookeeper picks up the baby panda and begins to feed him, close enough to the glass so everyone there can get a good view. It is such a beautiful thing to get to experience, and it is incredible the people there got to see it so up close and personal.
Soon after a proper feeding, the zookeeper burps the panda.
Watching the zookeeper begin to burp the darling baby panda, is such an endearing sight to see. Everyone who is watching this magical moment is in awe. It’s not every day you see baby pandas, especially not baby pandas getting bottle-fed and burped.
One watcher even remarks “that has to be hard to burp” because of the positioning that the zookeeper had to hold the baby panda.
Precisely who is this baby panda, and what’s her story?
This video was filmed at the Toronto Zoo in Canada, and this baby panda isn’t going to stay a baby for long because he is a giant panda. Giant pandas are on the endangered species list, and what makes these unique in particular, is they are the first giant pandas to be born in Canada.
At the Toronto Zoo, two were born, a boy and a girl. Their names are Jia Panpan, the boy, and Jia Yueyue, the girl. In this video, it is believed to be Jia Yueyue getting bottle-fed and burped. The boy’s name means “Canadian Hope,” and the girl’s name means “Canadian Joy.”
Why did they choose these names for the baby panda cubs?
The zoo did ask for help from the public to name these cuties. Still, eventually, a naming committee made up of representatives from the Chinese Cultural Center of Greater Toronto, and the zoo made up a list of seven name combinations to choose from.
Since giant pandas are from China and they are on the endangered species list, with only an estimated 1,600 left, this was an extraordinary and vital occurrence.
After watching this video and learning about the cub, it makes the video even more heartfelt.
Going to the zoo and seeing all of the different animals is always a fun experience, and regarding unique occurrences like this makes it an even cooler experience. Not only are seeing baby pandas absolutely precious and enjoyable in itself, but getting to see them being taken care of so nicely is magical.
