This teenager could tell the woman was in trouble, so the young man came up with a plan to save her.
Meet 17-year-old Malyk Bonnet, he’s a teenager from Montreal, Canada, who quickly identified trouble when he saw a man pushing a woman at a bus station, she was being kidnapped by her abusive ex. They asked the teen for money, sensing there was something wrong, he said yes and went with them to get money out at the local convenient store.
When he finally got the woman alone for a brief moment he realized his intuition was right, she told him she needed help to escape her abusive ex-boyfriend, who was holding her captive.
So how could the teenager get her away from her violent kidnapper? You’ll never guess how he did it.
17-year-old Malyk found himself in a nerve-racking position when the woman told him she was being held against her own will. He also noticed that the violence escalated when they weren’t in public places, so he tried to keep them out in the open.
The teenager followed them, playing the role of the nice guy, just waiting for an opportunity to act. He got on the bus with the woman and her capture, still, waiting for the right moment.
“I wanted to keep them in the public places, because when they’re in the public places he don’t act violent with her.” The teen told CBC News.
The young man offered to buy the woman and her assailant food and finally, his opportunity came!
17-year-old Malyk had given the woman money, joined her on the bus and now offered to buy her and the attacker food at the local Tim Hortons when his moment to get help finally arose.
Inside the restaurant, the young man quickly excused himself to the bathroom and called the police for the terrified woman. They showed up to arrest the man and just like that, her ordeal was over.
The young man is a hero who most likely saved the woman’s life. The police recognized him by raising $250 to pay him back.
When it was all said and done the lady escaped with her life and the assailant was arrested. Just to make it better, the police raised a $250 reward to pay back the teen’s heroism.
In a day and age where everyone is entranced by their phones, remember it’s important to still pay attention to what’s happening around you, after all, you could end up saving someone’s life!
