Dangerously beautiful!

The human body can only do so much, especially for a typical person (like myself), it can only reach a certain extent of flexibility and balance. There are people who can easily do a cartwheel, backflip, frontflip, handstand, headstand, and many more. But there are a few others who can go above and beyond what anatomy or any other branch of science can explain.

Though gymnastics and acrobatics can be defined separately, these two are combined and have formed a type of competitive sport.

Introducing, “Acrobatic Gymnastics”.

It is a competitive gymnastic discipline where gymnasts work together and perform figures consisting of acrobatic moves, dances, and tumbling that is set to a piece of music.

For the routines, there are three, according to Wikipedia:

“There are three types of routines; a ‘balance’ routine (at FIG grade 5 and above) where the focus is on strength, poise and flexibility; a ‘dynamic’ routine (also FIG grade 5 and above) which includes throws, somersaults and catches, and (at FIG grade 6 and above, as well as grade 4 and below) a ‘combined’ routine which includes elements from both balance and dynamic.”

If that information is too much to handle, then we highly advise that you watch this video.

Girl power!

During the 29th European Championships in Acrobatic Gymnastics for Seniors & Juniors back in 2019, three girls “soars” high in hopes of winning the competition. The event was held at the Holon Toto Hall in Holon, Israel. That was also the first time that the country hosted an acrobatic gymnastics competition at an international level.

The girls’ names are, Anastasiia Parshina, Daria Chebulanka, and Mariia Bakhtiarova, and they’re Russia’s all-women group for the 2019 Acro Europeans. With all the 19 countries that joined the prestigious competition, they bagged the fourth place award in the All Around Seniors division.

They are set to perform to ‘It’s Raining Men’ by Geri Halliwell.

It somehow touches their routine which you’ll soon find out. As soon as they reach the platform, they go to their respective positions, and what’s going to happen next is nowhere near our imagination.

They start by showing off a couple of basic dance-like movements… and then all of a sudden…

The two taller ladies toss the little one up in the air!

How is that for an opening stunt? If it is your first time to watch such a competition, it will surely make you jump off of your seat. These three talented women are going ultra with their routine and they don’t plan on going home empty-handed.

They are not just doing some jaw-dropping acrobatic stunts, they are also dancing in unison along with the music. They sure want to hit every line on the judges’ scorecards.

The land stunts bore them, so up in the air they go!

When doing acrobatic gymnastics on land gets boring, these women decide to level things “up” – literally. With all those dangerous stunts that they do, they are putting their lives on the line, but with the caliber of athletes they are, expect no room for mistakes, just perfection!

This commenter knows the danger of these stuns but appreciates the excellence of these ladies.

“Every time they would swing her, her head would only be about one inch from the floor YIKES! They are so talented. Beautiful.”
