As children, we loved McDonald’s. It was a real treat every time we pulled into the parking lot and saw those big golden arches.
And we all loved collecting those crappy little toys inside the Happy Meals.
But as an adult that changed. Going to McDonald’s as an adult is almost always a disappointment. For one, they never ever seem to get your order right.
And the very food that we used to crave just seems, well, gross.
But what Bella Ritchie saw at her local McDonald’s was far more disgusting than the way we feel after eating a Number 3.
Maggots… Bella found maggots in condiments that people were eating from at a McDonald’s in Cambridge.
Bella says she found live maggots in the McDonald’s ketchup dispenser. She posted a vomitous video of her findings on Twitter.
“Never going near the ketchup in @McDonalds again. For those of you who can’t tell, these are MAGGOTS,” she wrote on in her Tweet.
Umm, how about never going to McDonald’s ever again period? That’s enough to make me swear off Mickey’ D’s for good.
What’s even more unnerving is that the McDonald’s staff didn’t seem to care.
You’d think they be bowling over with apologies.
Or at least rushing to remove the maggots from the area where people eat from. But that’s not what Bella said happened. She says she was basically ignored and the staff made no effort to remove the maggots or clean out the dispenser.

“I told one member of staff and she literally just ignored me and carried on serving customers,” Bella wrote. “We had to literally stop someone from eating it because they didn’t realize. It’s so grim.”
A spokesperson for McDonald’s said they were trying to remedy the situation.
“We’re extremely sorry to see this and have tried to get in contact with the customer directly,” the chain told MailOnline. “Our condiment area and dispensers should be checked for cleanliness every day and we are looking into what happened here.”
However, this isn’t the first time people have claimed to have found maggots in their McDonald’s.
According to The Sun, Yasmine Batur said she found maggot larvae crawling through her Big Mac last year.
“They’re inside the meat patty,” she wrote as her video’s caption on Facebook.

McDonald’s denied these claims saying maggots in their food couldn’t have come from their restaurants.
This is because their meat is cooked at “incredibly high temperatures.”
A customer in New South Wales claims there were maggots in his Chicken McNuggets in August 2017 and another said they found worms in a burger they bought in Brisbane.

According to LAD Bible, the incident in Cambridge occurred a few days after McDonald’s workers staged a protest in Leicester Square for higher wages along with workers from Uber Eats, Wetherspoons, and TGI Fridays.
Workers were asking to be paid £10 per hour ($13.09) which is below the living wage of £10.20 ($13.35) for workers in London.
