Rob Mooberry was dealing with severe weight loss and was constantly complaining about pain in the stomach. His girlfriend Amanda urged him to go see doctors, but not a single doctor could figure out what was going on with Rob.

At one point, Rob had lost 60 pounds in a year, without changing his eating or exercise patterns.

The stomachaches were getting worse, and Rob decided to check with a surgeon. He agreed to do an exploratory surgery because he found it extremely strange that Rob lost sixty pounds for no apparent reason.

Unfortunately, the surgery revealed a shocking diagnosis.

The man was dealing with severe stage 4 colorectal cancer.

“It was very very painful,” he said to the DailyMail. “I went into the ER and that’s when I became an in-patient: they found it spread all around.”

Chances of survival were extremely slim, and doctors gave him an eight percent chance at best at making it through. Doctors already removed a tumor the size of a human fist during the initial surgery. Stage 4 means that the tumors have spread to various other parts of the body, including his aorta, bladder, and lymphatic system.

Rob was told he only had a few weeks left to live.

Rob couldn’t believe what he was hearing, especially because he led a healthy lifestyle, exercised regularly and had his family had no history of tumors. He did have a couple of symptoms such as strange bowel movements, but never thought it could be this serious. Because he didn’t have health insurance, he delayed going to the doctor until it was too late.

“I couldn’t believe it,” he told. “I was always a healthy person, I didn’t expect it.”

Luckily, Rob had the immense support of his girlfriend, Amanda. The two met as colleagues at a hotel in Las Vegas and instantly fell in love.

“That night, as I laid in the hospital bed next to Rob, he turned to me and whispered, ‘I want to get married'” Amanda said.

“So do I,” she replied.

At that very moment in the hospital, the two got engaged.

“She was so upset, my family was so upset. The doctors weren’t really telling me all of this but I knew it was serious, I thought I was going to die.”

“But Amanda just stuck with me. She could have left me, but she stayed. That’s when you know love is true.”

Just a couple of days later, Rob already had radiation and chemotherapy treatments planned. The man also vowed to eat completely healthy ever since he was diagnosed and went on a strictly vegan-based diet with plenty of superfoods. Because Amanda was already a vegetarian, the transition for the couple was fairly simple.

“We both changed our diets to strictly vegan, experimented with different herbs, and even did coffee enemas,” Amanda recalls.

“But when I finished chemo, the oncologists were saying I would need to do more straight away and I really didn’t want to. I needed to heal. That’s when I knew I needed to do anything to beat this cancer. I was really willing to try anything to save my life. That’s when I went hard-core raw, vegan, superfoods,” Rob added.

Rob wasn’t responding very well to the first set of chemo treatments, so they decided to take a break for a while and focus on living a healthy lifestyle.

He took inspiration from an alternative treatment for colon cancer patients that is popular in Mexico and decided to try and replicate that treatment by eating superfoods at home to detox the body.

Weeks passed and Rob’s health wasn’t declining, quite the contrary, in fact.

He returned to the hospital to get a CT scan, and doctors were amazed by the results.

The size of the cancerous tumor had already decreased by 80%.

Fast-forward a couple of months, and there was no trace of the tumor at all.

At first, Rob was given a few weeks to live. Now, he and his wife Amanda have two children and a bright future together.

The man says that his vegan-based diet definitely helped, but he does in no way endorse his diet to cancer patients as a magical cure. However, he does want to emphasize that living a healthy lifestyle is always important.

“It’s crazy to think that a few years ago we had all the odds stacked against us, but it just goes to show you that love can create miracles,” Amanda concluded.
