One night at a party, she heard a contagious laugh from across the room and that’s when she saw Michael, who she calls ‘Rogie’, for the very first time. Nothing happened between the two until a few weeks later. Louise’s friend had set her up on a date with someone, which just so happened to be Rogie!

The soulmates had two beautiful sons together named Jack and Noah. They were now the sweet family of four and couldn’t have been more thrilled. Rogie proposed to Louise in 2014 with rose petals and candlelight, also making her feel like the queen she is. They planned on having their wedding in 2018 but postponed it for a couple of years to raise their two sons.

When 2020 rolled around it seemed like a perfect time to tie the knot, but with COVID-19 had changed that plan, postponing the wedding to 2021. Their dear friends still wanted to celebrate them to lighten the mood of these stressful times. So they surprised Louise and Rogie with separate bachelorette and bachelor gatherings.

After a night of fun and love, Louise’s biggest nightmare had become reality. She was woken up to one of her friends saying,

“Louise, wake up. It’s Rogie, he’s had an accident. Let’s go now, he’s hurt his head.”

Louise woke up paralyzed with fear and asked what had happened, and her friend explained,

“Rogie fell down the stairs and was knocked out”

They rushed to the hospital and Rogie was in critical condition in the ICU, and because of COVID-19, they weren’t allowed to go in and see him.

A Tragic Discovery

They were later allowed to see him dressed in full PPE. Louise explained,

“I remember seeing the love of my life on a hospital bed in a neck brace, wires, and machines coming out of him. It was like a horror movie but it was real. I collapsed on him and cried like I never cried in my life.”

The doctor informed Louise that Rogie had a catastrophic brain injury and there was no way to stop the severe bleeding. Louise had to gain the strength to tell her two sons what was going on which is beyond heart-breaking.

That hospital could have been filled with tears and it still wouldn’t have been enough. When the ICU consultant informed Louise that Rogie was officially brain dead, she knew if she was really going to lose him she was going to marry him. So she expressed to the ICU about being wed in the hospital and they arranged a Chaplin to come in and marry them. Louise put on a white dress and held her darling Rogie, they were finally married.

Louise hoped and prayed for a miracle but God had another plan. Rogie passed away a week later in a coma. She explained to their two sons,

“Their daddy was an angel in heaven that would always be there, looking after and guiding us.”
