Woman adopts old dog from shelter, then finds out it was her childhood puppy
Being separated with your dog is devastating, especially when she is your best friend. Until one day, the unexpected happened that will make you believe in miracles.
Love will find its way and this is true with this beautiful story. Can you imagine that after more than 7 years, a dog will meet her owner once again in a twist of fate?
“I was 10 years old and all I wanted was a puppy. She was wearing a pink bow when Nana gave her to me. We were best friends,” said Nicole to BBC.
It was a precious gift from her grandmother. A little girl with a puppy, it’s the perfect pair!
Then the unexpected happened.
At a very young age, little Nicole Grimes was separated from his four-legged best friend – Chloe. Nicole and Chloe were inseparable and they were the best of friends however, she was forced to give her up because her father got a new job in customer service.
This means that he needs to always be answering calls and having a dog is not allowed. After 4 beautiful years of being best of friends they had to part ways.
“I remember my dad picked me up from school when I was 14 with the dog in the back seat. I knew we had to give her away,” Nicole recalls.
It was the hardest heartbreak a 14-year old girl would ever experience. They were best of friends but Chloe has to be taken away to the Washington Humane Society. Though, Nicole never did forget about her best buddy.
After many years, Nicole Grimes decided that she wanted to adopt a dog. Nicole is now all grown up and has a family of her own. Something caught her attention, something familiar. Her heart somehow knew that this dog was special. She saw a post for a cute but elderly dog named Chloe who needs a new home. Her heart skipped a bit, this small gray dog looked exactly like her childhood pet. It was a cute Pomeranian-poodle crossbreed and coincidentally, her name was also Chloe.
“When I found out they were both called Chloe it was really strange. It just clicked when she was introduced to me as Chloe.
When she was dropped off she came running up to me and was licking my face. Then I knew in my heart that she had to be the same dog,” Nicole told Homeluxury.
It was that strong feeling, they immediately connected. No matter how long it was, their hearts knew that they belong to each other.
To erase all doubts, Nicole and her husband checked the dog’s microchip and it was confirmed, after 7 long years, Nicole and Chloe were reunited.
Imagine, what are the chances of meeting your beloved four-legged best friend again after so many years? It’s like a something out of a fairy tale. This one however is real. Love did reunite these two beautiful souls.
Nicole also shared that her grandmother passed away a few years ago. So, reuniting with Chloe was a huge help for her family to heal.
Ever sweet Chloe is now so close with the next generation of the Grimes family. She is very loving towards Nicole’s four-month-old daughter Violet. They are now the sweetest of friends.
“They love to play with each other. Chloe is very gentle with Violet and it warms my heart to see them together.”
