Dogs always seem to have the best reactions, don’t they? Going on a walk? Excited! Time to eat? Excited! Read to play fetch? Excited!
They are people-pleasing animals that will do nearly anything for praise. That’s why the Internet sensation challenge, ‘What the Fluff’ was sure to be a hit.
If you’ve never heard of it ( where have you been?!) then let’s get you up to speed. Basically, the challenge requires owners to hold a blanket in front of themselves, peer over it a few times so the dog can see them, then, toss the blanket in the air and dart out of the room.
The intended result is that the blanket falls and the person has ‘disappeared” thus totally confusing the pooch. Timing is everything!
People from around the world have got on board with this ridiculously cute trend. So many adorably clueless pups and so many delighted viewers. Stuff like this makes the world go round.
Then–there’s this girl.
Ashlynn Dacus was just another dog owner excited to jump on board with this challenge. The video starts off pretty well. She raises and lowers the blanket, so the dog has his full attention on her.
The pooch also happens to be a St. Bernard, so viewers are totally feeling his adorableness right away. He’s doing his part by panting like crazy and paying attention to his owner. The suspense is totally building.
Then, things take an unexpected turn when Ashlynn raises the blanket a final time, drops it, and attempts the runaway. The unfortunate thing? She smacks right into the wall. Ouch! In one loud crash and bang, the video is over.
Fortunately, it looks like the Ashlynn was laughing as she tried to pick herself up off the floor. However, her dog didn’t wait around to see what in the world happened. He was out of there! The camera person couldn’t hold it together as she bursts into laughter and ends the video. I can’t say I blame her!
Since the video’s debut a couple of weeks ago, it’s been viewed over 36 million times and shared by over 500,000 people. It’s safe to say we all appreciate a hilarious fail from time to time!

To be fair, she isn’t alone when it comes to the epic ‘What the Fluff’ failures. At this point, we’ve seen everything from uninterested pups to people just not being able to hide fast enough. But we can’t help but admit that it brings a little joy to our lives whether it’s a total win or a complete failure.
