Being a Police Officer is not an easy job, not only do you risk your life every day, but sometimes it can seem like no one appreciates you. That’s why when a member of the community goes out of there way to show their gratitude, the cops really appreciate it!
This woman anonymously baked cookies for the police for years, when they found out who she was, Officers lined the streets to thank her.
When the anonymous “pizzelle lady” was finally discovered, the police had a special way to thank her
For years, the delicious Italian cookies would appear out of nowhere at the Medford Police Department in Massachusetts. The Police had no idea who was dropping off the home-baked pizzelle’s, but they definitely were enjoying them!
Year after year, like clockwork, the mouth-watering cookies would appear for everyone to snack on. The Department always wanted to know who left the cookies, but she never stuck around to take credit.
One day the cookies stopped coming, but soon another gift would arrive, revealing the identity of the “pizzelle lady”
After many years of receiving scrumptious Italian cookies, The Medford Police Department in Massachusetts noticed that they suddenly stopped appearing. They still didn’t know who the cookie deliveries were coming from, but that was about to change.
A woman walked into the Medford Police Department holding a bag of tomatoes, she explained that these were from her mother’s garden who insisted she bring them. She told them how her mom, Antonietta Manganiello, was the “pizzelle lady” but couldn’t bake the cookies anymore because she had a decrease in health.
Once the Police Department found out who the anonymous cookie lady was, they knew they had to do something special
The Medford Police were thrilled to know who was behind the generous gesture, so Chief Jack Buckley organized a special thank you for Antonietta to show their gratitude.
Just like that, dozens of Medford Police Officers were standing outside of Antonietta’s home in full uniform. She was delighted to see such a display from the people that protect and serve her community.
“All of you are wonderful, You do a lot of work for everybody!” Said Antonietta.
Chief Buckley gave Antonietta flowers on behalf of the department, they even made her a “pizzelle lady” plaque
With dozens of Officers looking on, Chief Buckly gave Antonietta flowers to show their appreciation. She couldn’t believe they were doing all this for her.
“For so many years you think about us, right? You deliver those pizzelle’s to us. We are so grateful for everything you’ve ever done.” Chief Buckley said to Antonietta.
They even had a special “pizzelle lady” plaque made for the lovely lady, who had them scratching their heads for years.
What an amazing story, I’m glad the mysterious “pizzelle lady” finally got some credit! Antonietta is an amazing lady with so much gratitude, watch the video below!
