Hold those forks, Tuna fans!
Seriously, everyone, stop eating that tuna! I know how much you all love tuna, but this is important! Bumble Bee Foods has announced a voluntarily recall of canned Chunk Light tuna.
There are a total of 31,579 cases that are included in the recall which were produced in February 2016 and distributed nationally. So put down that giant serving of tuna for a hot second to check and make sure youโre safe to eat it!
I know how hard this is. You love tuna. I love tuna. Everyone loves tuna. But the fact of the matter is that the recall affects 3 specific UPC codes (8660000020, 8660000021, 8660000736) of canned Chunk Light tuna. Apparently something went wrong in the packaging phase, which could result in life-threatening spoilage if consumed. TUNA IS AMAZING, BUT NOT WORTH DYING OVER, PEOPLE!
Itโs come to my attention that some of you are still eating can after can of mouth-watering tuna despite my instructions to stop and check your labels first. Thatโs ok, I get it โ sometimes tuna is just too good to resist. Now that youโve got that out of your system, the products subject to this recall are marked with a can code that starts with a โTโ (example: TOA2BSCAFB) and have the following โbest byโ dates:
- 5oz Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water โ 02/10/2019, 02/16/2019, 02/17/2019, 02/18/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/23/2019, 02/25/2019
- 5oz Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Oil โ 02/23/2019
- 4 Pack of 5oz Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in Water โ 02/9/2019, 02/10/2019, 02/22/2019, 02/29/2019
GREAT BARRIER REEF! YOUโVE EATEN EVERY CAN OF TUNA IN THE HOUSE?! STOP! Yes, I know no illnesses have been reported as of yet, but that doesnโt mean none will! Youโve eaten upwards of 40 cans of tuna โ even if theyโre safe, thatโs way too much!
Bumble Bee is working closely with the co-packer and the FDA to remove the affected products from store shelves. Oh wait a second, thereโs someone at the door. Who could it be?
โฆ..oh no. Itโs the tuna delivery guy! Youโve ordered 50 more cases of tuna?! Reader, stop this! We care about you! We all love tuna, but youโve taken it too far!
Donโt you understand, reader? Donโt you get it?! Iโm trying not to cry here. Consumers are advised to throw away the recalled product.
