Stories of the ill-fated Fyre Festival, the music festival organized by Ja Rule with assistance from Loki (Norse God of Mischief), continue to pour in. The situation escalated even more Monday, May 1st, as attorney Mark Geragos filed a $100 million lawsuit against the festival’s organizers for fraud, breach of contract, breach of covenant of good faith, and negligent misrepresentation.

Geragos is going to have no trouble finding evidence to support these claims – millennials continue to post pictures and stories of the the disaster on social media. Austin Mills, a vlogger and former point guard for Baylor University, captured his entire trip on video.

Right off the bat we meet our protagonist, Austin, who tragically can’t get his hat to stay on his head the way he wants. He continues to adjust it throughout the entire 12-minute video. It’s very sad – we wish Austin the best of luck with his hat troubles.

Austin has just arrived in Miami and, though he’s heard rumors of some problems on Great Exuma, he’s excited to fly down and have some fun.

By the story’s end, a three hour delay will seem like a walk in the park, but it certainly doesn’t start Austin’s trip off on the right foot.

After an admittedly picturesque flight to the Bahamas (filled with young people who all share the same absolutely adorable sense of humor), Austin and a bus full of impatient passengers arrive at a tent camp which stretches as far as the eye can see:

Austin and his friends take in their surroundings and find a tent with primo carpeting:

The situation continued to deteriorate, however. While Austin and the crew spend hours trying to track down their luggage (along with pretty much everyone else at the festival), another group steals their tent. Apparently, organizers were just telling people to just “find an open tent and sleep in it.”

The search for luggage continues into the night. Austin and his friends are still having trouble finding their things long after the sun has gone down. People carry their mattresses from place to place so they won’t be stolen. Giant lights shining on the tents make it hard not to think of the festival as a prison camp.

Finally, the crew decides the festival is a bust. They make their way back to the airport, only to find hundreds of others feeling the same way. It’s an organizational nightmare.

Hours later, after boarding the flight and waiting on the tarmac for hours, the passengers are repeatedly made to disembark so staff can track the number of guests.

After several more hours (the sun has now risen), the plane has waited so long that a new pilot has to come and replace the old one due to federal regulations. The passengers are once again taken off the plane and locked in a waiting room.

The airport staff took no chances locking those doors:

Finally, the crew arrives back in Miami. They’re a little worse for wear but basically ok. Except that Austin will never be able to get his hat to sit on his head the right way. That poor soul.

We’re glad you guys got home safe! Austin described it as “what may be the worst 24 hours of my life.” If it was really that bad, I think I know of a lawyer who may be able to get you guys some cash!
