Have you ever been in a situation where you needed help and a kind stranger has stepped in? Maxโs story proves that angels are everywhere, and they often come in a guise that you wouldnโt expect. And, luckily for Max, his guardian angel was looking out for him and swooped in to save the day.

UPS driver Marco Angel was going about his day as usual. He dropped a large package off at a residence in Oak Park, rang the doorbell once, and went on his way.
Little did he know, heโd soon be sprinting to rescue the little boy who lived there.

The little boy who found himself in big trouble was 4-year-old Max Pratt. Max was a good little boy who always did his chores and helped his mom around the house. Whenever he heard the UPS truck, he loved to fetch the package all by himself and bring it inside for his mom.
But on this occasion, the package on the porch was enormous.

The doorbell cam on the Prattโs porch captures footage of little Max as he happily comes out, sees the gigantic package, and attempts to drag it inside.
But, unbeknownst to Max, the package heโs trying to move weighs 97 pounds.

Max struggles to move the package thatโs twice his size, but the poor little guy perseveres. But heโs bitten off more than he can chew. With a final heave, the package topples over โ pinning max underneath.
Marco, the UPS driver, can be seen in the distance. Heโs just about to hop back into his van when he hears Max cry out.
โAaah! Help!โ

Thankfully, Marco hears him and his โdadโ instincts immediately kick in.
โI pictured my boys in his situation, obviously, and you go into full parent mode, full dad mode,โ Marco told CNN affiliate WBBM.
Without wasting a second, he turns and sprints back across the road. He doesnโt even check for traffic.

Marco reaches Max in just a few seconds. He swoops in like a hero and swiftly lifts the 97-pound package off of little max, who was pinned between the 97-pound box and the ground.
Now, Max only weighs around 40 pounds, so you can imagine the terror he felt when he was being flattened by a package double his size.

After rescuing Max, Marcoโs first priority is to see if heโs okay.
โYou okay, buddy?โ Marco asks the boy, who still looks slightly dazed.
It turns out that the package was a hammock. While all this was going down, Maxโs mom, Traci, had been upstairs watching Maxโs 2-year-old sister, Lily, when she heard the commotion outside.

Traci was bewildered to find Max and the UPS man standing on the front porch, looking shaken. It was only when she watched the doorbell cam footage that she realized exactly what had happened.
โHe was scared,โ Traci told the Chicago Sun Times. โHe knew that he never wanted that to happen again. I think he saw all four of his years flash before his eyes.โ
Traci was so grateful to Maxโs guardian angel that she decided to share the footage on the private Oak Park Moms Facebook group, and it spread like wildfire.

โThereโs so much darkness in the world,โ Traci told the Chicago Sun Times, โAnd people, especially coming off the year that weโve had, just need some bright light. So I wanted to share it with our community.โ
And Max? Well, heโs absolutely fine. In fact, heโs become a bit of a local celebrity. And in all his interviews, he says that his mom should never have ordered that heavy hammock!
