When Chrissy Teigen tweeted her appreciation for Ed Sheeran, she did not expect an opinionated flurry of responses.
The Lip Sync Battle co-host singled out Ed Sheeran’s performance of “Castle on the Hill,” on the Billboard Music Awards, saying, “Personal opinion everyone shares: Ed Sheeran is a good dude.”

Despite 62,000 likes, there were a fair share of spiteful comments disagreeing with the model’s tweet.
There were those who were ambivalent in their stance as well, but felt the need to join the hubbub.
this is the first time I've ever seen you be wrong on here and it's honestly surreal.

The fracas from the naysayers slam Sheeran’s egotistical persona and for being aligned with the Taylor Swift camp.
Interestingly, Sheeran was purported to have slut-shamed Swift, who helped elevate his career during the early stages and even quibbled about being “very uncomfortable” with Swift’s snide remark toward Kanye West during her Grammy acceptance speech.
Chloe Stillwell from Playboy observed that Sheeran’s misogyny-tinged single “Don’t” was rumored to be about tour mate Swift, who apparently shacked up with another guy. A verse from the song goes: “But you didn’t need to take him to bed that’s all / And I never saw him as a threat.”
Needless to say, Teigen was a little overwhelmed from the varied responses to her initial tweet. Whether some agreed or were indifferent, she was not going to be dragged into the middle of a battle between two camps.
