You have to look for yourself to find yourself.
This phrase has been thrown around self-help vlogs or workshops but no one really ever thought of taking this as realistically as one man did.
We all had our fair share of drunk stories. From passing out entirely to doing things out of the ordinary, to things that are straight out taken from the movie The Hangover, we can swear to our inner crazies that these moments were surreal.
A man in Turkey took that drunkenness to a whole new level.
A man named Beyhan Mutlu was drinking with friends that night. He may had have a little bit too much to drink because, by the end of the night, he got together two things that shouldnโt be combined in any way โ alcohol and the wilderness.
Local reports said that Mutlu wandered into a nearby forest where he disappeared into the darkness. It sounds exactly like the first five minutes of a true crime documentary but fortunately, this one gets funny.
After going into the woods, Mutlu suddenly went off-radar.
His friends and family were obviously worried about what happened to him especially when they never heard from here for several hours.
Fortunately for Mutlu, help was quick and a search was mounted immediately upon receiving the report.
Several people joined the local law enforcement authorities in locating Mutlu.
Then, as the search went underway, a crazy thing happened. Law enforcement and other volunteers were scouring the area and shouting Mutluโs name.
One of the members of the search party, most probably confused and dumbfounded, said three words that equally baffled everyone โ โI am here.โ One can only imagine the next few seconds of that encounter.
Apparently, as they were combing through the forest, Mutlu joined in to help.
For what itโs worth, at least people know that Mutlu is a helpful man who will spontaneously join in a search when he encounters one.
Itโs just that at that moment, he didnโt realize that the search was mounted for him. When they were calling out for him using his name, Mutlu even asked and clarified who the party was looking for.
Law enforcement then confirmed his identity and gave him a ride home.
It may be an amazingly hilarious story perfect to be shared in family dinners but we know that Mutluโs family wonโt have it any other way.
At least, even with the storyโs ending, Mutlu ended safely with family and friends. Although, we doubt that heโs going to wander into a forest drunk again anytime soon.
As surreal as it sounds, this isnโt the first time a person joined their own search party.
A woman on tour in Iceland went missing. Icelandic law enforcement mounted a big search where the countryโs coast guard even prepared a helicopter to assist in the search.
Apparently, the โmissingโ woman went back to the bus unannounced, changed clothes, and went back out. Her bus mates didnโt recognize her and so they reported her as missing when she didnโt come back to the bus.

When they realized she was with the search party all along, the efforts were called off, most probably with much laughter and relief.
