Do you still recall that moment when you cried so hard for that one toy that you really wanted but mommy and daddy said ‘no’?
Almost every kid has this type of experience. That ‘one’ toy that we really wanted that we’re willing to give up our other toys and sleep early just so mommy and daddy would buy it.
For Tumblr user Bunjywunjy, it was the T-Rex action figure. That time, when the first Jurassic Park movie came out, most kids wanted this cool toy but for mommy dearest, this toy was ‘too violent and ate people’, end of story.
Years past and Bunjywunjy is now all grown up with his own money and guess what? As he was walking through the toy isle at Target, memories came rushing back as he saw the T-Rex figurine. However, upon closer inspection, he saw that it was ‘too expensive’ and creates a lot of obnoxious noises.
Good thing he found another one, a little smaller but had a ‘bite action’ and for Bunjywunjy, that’s all that matters.
We can see how excited Bunjywunjy is with his new favorite ‘toy’; clearly, it’s never too late to follow your dreams!
His followers loved his update so he decided to give in to the people’s request and gave frequent updates.
He named the female T-Rex ‘Wexter’.
Bunjywunjy also gave her a collar complete with her name, and at the back, it says ‘Extreme Chompin’ – how cool is that?
“I haven’t put this much effort into a non-school thing since my last job search, help,” said Wexter’s proud owner on his Tumblr post.
Wexter has photos chompin’ on some flowers in the garden, fetching a small branch, checking out her likes and also photos of her enjoying the sun with those fashion heart-shaped sunglasses.
The internet instantly fell in love with Wexter and her antics. To date, Bunjywunjy’s blog about Wexter has nearly 250,000 followers and still gaining more attention. Who wouldn’t love the fun posts about a T-Rex who’s living a great life?
Bored Panda was able to get an interview with Bunjywunjy and asked how the chompin’ T-Rex was doing lately and he said
“Wexter is doing great, that last picture with her in the snow was taken just this past weekend! She’s currently posed on a pile of National Geographics on my desk so that she can stare directly at me over my laptop screen because there’s nothing like the hot yellow glare of a predator to really focus your attention. (Not that you’ll find that one in the self-help books.)”
When asked what he loved the most about dinosaurs, he jokingly said that it’s everything about them, though kidding aside; he said that what he loved the most about these creatures is that they were once actual living animals.
According to Bunjywunjy himself, he was surprised by how the internet accepted his ‘silly’ thread about buying a plastic dino toy. It only shows that no matter how old we become, a part of us will still be ‘kids’ at heart.
