In case you have never really paid attention, tomato cages and actually kind of unique and have a lot of unused potential.
You may find yourself staring at yours when the gardening season is over and wondering what else you could do with it, rather than just leaving it in a forgotten corner of the yard.
Truth be told, there are many interesting and artistic ways that you can recycle a tomato cage into something new and exciting. Here are six ways you can put it to good use again, even when tomatoes aren’t in season.
#1 Tomato Cage Christmas Tree
Each year, there are over three-million Christmas trees that are bought and sent straight to the landfill after Christmas day has come and passed. In addition to that saddening fact, having a living Christmas tree can be annoying and a lot of work when the needles start falling.
Save yourself from some despair, and consider making your own lighted Christmas tree from an old tomato cage.
You can shape it into a tree with pliers and then wrap lights in your choice of color on your brand new tomato tree. Some people even hang ornaments. It’s gorgeous without all the cleanup, and you can use it again next year!

#2 Fall Leaves Topiary
You will find that some topiaries take up a lot of space in the attic. To save that space for other things, like mismatched socks and old toys no one wants to give up, you can wrap garland made out of artificial leaves around an old tomato cage.
You can even add LED lights to brighten up your living room. It’s a beautiful and easy way to reuse that tomato cage and add a pop of color to your home.
And if you ever get tired of it, you can recycle it again… or leave it in that spare bit of attic space.

#3 Christmas Card Holder
It is easy to make a Christmas card holder out of an old tomato cage. Adding some burlap and ribbon will give it more of a rustic look.
You can decorate it any way you want, however, to match the custom décor of your home and it will be a great way to display any cards you receive during the holiday season.

It will look like a piece of art, but nobody ever has to know that it didn’t cost you an arm and a leg!

Another fun winter craft you can create with an old tomato cage is a snow angel. Simply turn the tomato cage upside down, you can drape white fabric over it and decorate it any way you please.
Don’t forget the wings and halo! Bend wire into the required shapes, attach them to your tomato cage and add fabric to cover the wings and ribbon to cover the halo.
It will be a cute addition to your front porch this holiday season, and it could be made cuter by only one thing – having two tomato cage snow angels to keep each other company.
