Everyone loves magic. Whether you see a local magician or someone famous like David Copperfield, there’s something special about it. Okay, so some of the tricks you can figure out while others leave you stumped.
But the best magic tricks are those performed by children. Especially if you look at it from their eyes. They believe they’re fooling everyone. And as parents and grandparents, we pretend right along with them.
They’re just illusions
The cool thing about magic is the things that people do are nothing more than illusions. They work in such a way to make the mind think it’s seeing the impossible. After all, one has ever used a saw to cut a woman in half nor made the Statue of Liberty disappear.
Figuring it out
The secret is how magicians execute their tricks. So, what’s the deal? Well, they create a distraction. And some of them are so good that their slide of hand happens so fast you didn’t even see it. That’s what you call magic.
A little girl performs
One girl who lives with her family in Fort Mill, South Carolina, wanted to put on a magic show. But she forgot the most critical element…the distraction. The result was beyond hilarious.
Now the world can laugh
Thanks to this little girl’s parents, her magic act was uploaded on Facebook. It begins with her wearing adorable footie pajamas while standing in a doorway. The only thing in her hands is a blanket.
The anticipation intensifies
This girl was so serious and determined to make her magic trick work, that others began to believe that maybe she was onto something. As expected, they watched and waited in great anticipation.
Now, for the trick
After she gets her family’s attention, this little girl raises the blanket over her face. Then, she begins to counts. After saying “one,” she moves the blanket down. Then she goes to “two.” This time, the blanket goes up. This continues until she reaches “seven.”
She can’t stop moving
The entire video is a hoot to watch. But perhaps the cutest part is that she keeps jumping up and down. As she counts, she jumps. She’s so excited to disappear she can’t stand it. In fact, she almost rushes her trick just to get the end.
The greatest ending
Okay, that’s really awesome. But here’s the part that made this video so great. As soon as she says “seven,” she drops the blanket and runs around the corner just as fast as she can. Sure, everyone saw her but they acted like they didn’t notice.
Applause
In response to her amazing skills, you first hear someone let out a big giggle. That’s followed by a “yay” and then applause. No, she didn’t do the trick quite right but her intentions were good. So, her family wanted to make sure she knew they loved her act.
“Where did she go?”
At the very end of the video, her dad yells out, “Where did she go?” You never do see her come back. It could be the trick was so much work that she headed directly to bed. After all, she was in her pajamas.
Encouraging children’s creativity
Whether it’s your kids or some that live in your neighborhood, you can be an encourager. When young, like this little girl, it’s so important to support their endeavors. Even if it’s doing magic.
This is a time of innocence when even their mistakes are endearing.
