There is so much truth and wisdom behind the saying “It takes a village to raise a child.” Child-rearing goes beyond seeing to their needs and keeping them healthy and happy.
It involves preparing them for the many situations the world has in store for them: meeting new people, dealing with emotions, understanding the concept of change and properly dealing with it.
It takes time, effort, and patience for a child to fully grasp certain concepts and learn good behavior. More importantly, he or she must always be surrounded by people who are worth imitating – those who practice what they preach ad show the same values and decency.
One little boy is the perfect example of how consistency in training and disciple always pays off. Sibling rivalry may be common and perceived as normal but in some families, it’s non-existent. When there’s no room for jealousy or resentment, beautiful relationships are formed and a warm, loving environment is built.
Take this little boy who just became a big brother. The parents did an excellent job in preparing him for the arrival of his sibling. It looked as if an enormous amount of love and assurance helped him understand his new role. Instead of confusion, the toddler handled the change perfectly. The little boy was ready to be a big brother. It was evident in his demeanor. He seemed to embrace his role full on, with an eagerness seen in the way he cradled her and sang softly to her.
Impressively, he knew the words to “What a Wonderful World”, a timeless track from Louis Armstrong that’s been covered numerous times from artists across all music genres. The doting toddler couldn’t have picked a better song to sing to his baby sister. In the video, the little boy is seen carefully holding the baby in his arms. Showing a calmness that’s not typical for a toddler, he held her with such gentleness and softly continued to sing to her. The meaning of the classic song seemed to have been amplified by the loving manner in which he sang.
Surprisingly, the toddler’s sweet little sister also looked as if she was listening intently to her big brother’s voice, seemingly looking up at him with adoring eyes. There were delightful instances of the baby smiling sweetly at him, too. It was very telling of the kind of relationship the siblings would have. Fortunately, the precious moment was recorded by their parents. It’s the kind of video that would instantly put a smile to anyone’s face or even bring someone to tears. There is no doubt the toddler would be a kind and responsible big brother, the type who would willingly protect her, teach her, and play with her.
