Move over Ellen, there’s a new Twitter champ in town.
Carter Wilkerson, a teenager from Reno, Nevada, loves Wendy’s nuggets. So, in a tweet that has gone viral, Carter posted a conversation he had with the fast food chain, asking how many retweets he would need in order to get free nuggets for a year, not realizing it would eventually be retweeted over 3.5 million times.
Here’s how the conversation went down:

Over the past month, the tweet, and #NuggsForCarter, gained momentum, with celebrities pitching to to help Wilkerson reach his goal.
Including Aaron Paul:
Victoria’s Secret model Martha Hunt:
And Kathy Griffin:
Even the Governor of Nevada got in on the action:
Not to mention big businesses, like Amazon:
And Microsoft:
Even though Carter didn’t reach the 18 million retweets needed, Wendy’s still gave him gift cards for a year’s supply of nuggets, as well as donating $100,000 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in Wilkerson’s name.
Not to mention the 100,000 followers he now has on Twitter.
.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That’s good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarter pic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E
