This teen spends her weekends throwing birthday parties for homeless kids that have never had them.
Tanvi Barman is a 17-year-old girl, who spends most of her extra time throwing birthday parties for homeless children whoโve never had one before. Tanvi, travels around the Bay Area, to a different shelter, throwing birthday parties for kids who canโt afford them.
Most high school seniors are worried about make-up, and boyfriends, not helping homeless children! The amazing teen helps make birthday memories that the kids will never forget.

Tanvi calls the project โNo Birthday Left Behind,โ and has been throwing parties for kids in shelters since the 8th grade!
Clearly the 17-year-old is well beyond her years, she came up with the plan to throw birthday parties for homeless children in the 8th grade. The driven teen reaches out to venders, to donate things like decoration, food, and entertainment for the parties.
With the help of charity from vendors, the parties are the real deal! She even specializes in the parties to fit whichever kid sheโs throwing a party for. In the video below, we get a glimpse of 14-year-old, Annethโs, birthday party.

For 14-year-old Annethโs party, Tanvi got a pinata, Specialized cake, and even a face painting lady!
With the help of vendors, Tanvi always pulls out all the stops for the children in the shelters, giving them birthdays theyโll surely remember!
For the custom birthday cakes, Tanvi works with โCakes for Kids,โ an organization focused on making custom cakes for less fortunate children.

Tanvi has even created a personal guide, for other teens who want to start their own โNo Birthday Left Behind.โ
Tanvi doesnโt do it alone, her parents help with anything they can, giving her the support she needs to throw successful parties. They recently received 501(c)(3) status for โNo Birthday Left Behind,โ and she hopes the program will spread to other cities.
Tanvi has also created a guide that shows teenโs how to start their own birthday party charity. Though the work isnโt easy, the pay off is well worth it.

โI see them laughing, smiling, I know when they blow out the candles they always look around to see everybody watching them and it makes me really really happy, that something so small just like blowing out their candles, is such a big thing to them, itโs such a new concept to them. You know a whole birthday cake designed just for them and seeing their name on a cake, just makes me really, really happy, honestlyโ Said, Tanvi.
This teenage girl can teach us all a lesson since she was just a little kid, sheโs known the power of giving. Helping others is the greatest reward of all, Tanvi is living proof. Watch the video below!
