Nothing beats a feel-good performance from incredible talents like Ryan Boz and Alexa Garrish. Normally, one would expect young adults such as the two to engage in hip-hop, jazz, ballet, or contemporary dance, not swing.

Defying stereotypes and surpassing expectations, the two dancers are known for always giving flawless performances and have even earned themselves the winning title in the US Open Swing Dance Championship – the highest West Coast Swing Honor that can be achieved.

Ryan’s dance experience started at five years old, while Alexis has numerous dance awards under her belt and expertise in many other dance forms such as tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, country, and hip-hop.

It comes as no surprise that dancing would come naturally to the two as both their moms used to be competitive dancers themselves.

With the dance floor as their stage, the two, sporting red and black outfits speckled with glitter, easily had all eyes drawn on them from the moment they appeared. Attractive and confident with undeniable charisma, the duo prepared to wow the audience as they waited for the song to play.

Each step was executed with impressive grace and synchronicity. Despite the performance being a choreographed one, it looked so natural because of the duo’s chemistry and relaxed smiles. No tension and no nervousness – only two amazing swing dancers having a great time on the dance floor.

They couldn’t have picked a better track to dance to. The beat of the song perfectly highlighted their choreography. Who knew traditional swing dance could work for such a fast and modern song?

More than the song choice and the dance type, it was really the pair’s impressive dancing skills and commanding stage presence that caught the attention of everyone watching.
