If you’ve ever been sunburned, you know how painful it is. Then there’s the fact that you turn bright red, which makes you stand out. Although this can happen to anyone, it’s most common among lighter-skinned individuals, as well as those who live in places like California and Florida. After all, it’s hard to stay away from the beach.
Lack of protection
Any time someone spends a lot of time outdoors in the sun, it’s important for them to wear sunscreen. If not, they could get really burned. Sometimes, it’s to the point of putting themselves in danger both short- and long-term.
Is it a lobster?
Recently, one man received a significant amount of attention. While swimming in the ocean, two things stood out. First, he was surrounded by a bunch of stingrays, which is cool. Second, he had one of the worst sunburns ever seen.
Maybe Hellboy?
This guy was so burnt that people initially thought he must be wearing some type of red diving gear. Some individuals started referring to him as “Hellboy.” Michael J. McCarthy of See Through Canoe, located in St. Petersburg, uploaded the video to social media. Immediately, it went viral.
Beyond shocking
The color of red on this man’s skin was so surreal that a lot of Twitter users thought he was photoshopped. But when looking at the stingrays along with other swimmers nearby, it was easy to tell he was just super sunburnt.
Comments came flooding in
People were so stunned at just how sunburnt this man was, they begin offering advice. One poster had this to say, “SOMEONE GET THAT MAN SOME ALOE.” Another individual commented, “That is THE most sunburned human I’ve ever seen.”
Did he even know?
Sometimes, people don’t realize how burned they are until at night. They’re so busy having fun, as this man was, they don’t pay attention to anything else. But we’re pretty sure he paid the consequences later.
The drone caught it all
Without the drone flying overhead, no one would’ve ever believed this was real. More than likely, this guy was mesmerized by the stingray. Often, people think they’re dangerous animals. In reality, they’re quite shy. But they will approach humans and prove to be gentle creatures.
A fantastic video
Now posted on multiple social media sites, tens of thousands of people have watched the video in complete dismay. In the beginning, you see the stingray swimming about without a care in the world while water splashes around them.
Suddenly, the scene changes
That’s when this bright red object comes into focus. At first, it’s hard to tell what it is because the color is so unnatural. But as you continue to watch the video, you realize it’s a human. Like everyone else, you’ll probably think…no way.
Yep, it’s a man
How in the world doesn’t he know that he’s burnt to a crisp? Doesn’t he feel any pain? Apparently, he doesn’t because he keeps swimming with the stingray. This video is exceptional not only because of the sunburnt individual but also the amazing footage of these animals.
There’s nothing wrong with swimming the ocean or a pool for that matter. But if you’re prone to getting sunburned, you should seriously consider using sunscreen. Otherwise, you could end up in a viral video like this guy.
