Whether you are a dog lover or not, youโ€™d still pity a homeless dog. The heart-wrenching feeling even becomes tenfold stronger when you see one on the streets, wandering, and begging for food.

Thatโ€™s what exactly happened to a woman in Brownsville, Texas. She saw two helpless dogs living in the parking lot outside of a fast-food restaurant. The scene broke her heart into smithereens thatโ€™s why sheโ€™s decided to go above and beyond just to help the poor pups.

Eighteen-year-old Destiny Vasquez decided to take out her phone and film the two dogs โ€“ who were incredibly friendly and affectionate. She shared the sweet clip onto a friendโ€™s Facebook to appeal for someone to help them.

As fate would have it, a lot of kind-hearted people saw the video. As they wait to be adopted, they are staying in a foster home where theyโ€™re getting all the love that they deserve.

Leslie Hennings shared the video of the sweet dogs onto her Facebook page with the heartbreaking caption:

โ€œThey literally begged to be taken but they werenโ€™t. They go up to every car that passes by in hopes to find a home. Itโ€™s been weeks. Tonight it will be another night in the parking lot. It will be another night in the streets. These two only have each other and desperately need rescue together! Please help network them for rescue and foster!โ€

As seen on the video, the dogs are lively wagging their tails and putting their paws on the carโ€™s windows as they ask for food.

You can easily tell from the video itself that these pups are friendly and sweet, and seeing them begging for food is simply heartbreaking.

Destiny spoke to The Dodo about her initial meeting with the dogs โ€“ and how she knew instantly that she had to help them, saying:

โ€œI was in the drive-thru, I saw one of the dogs and said, โ€˜Oh my gosh! This dog has no home. I was crying and crying. I called my mom, and I said, โ€˜Mom, I have to get this dog.โ€™ I didnโ€™t know there were two dogs at the time.โ€

Luckily, the right person was able to watch the plea on social media. Ana Teran, a volunteer for Animal Aid Brigade in Houston, saw it all, right there and then, she knew exactly what she needed to do to help the neglected dogs.

โ€œAs soon as I saw it, I just couldnโ€™t believe it. I couldnโ€™t let it go. I just said, โ€˜How can I get these dogs? If I have to rent a car, I will, to get them,โ€™โ€ She told The Dodo.

And thatโ€™s exactly what she did. Ana drove the long journey from Houston to South Texas, and it was all worth it when she laid eyes on the two adorable pooches.

โ€œI was so excited to see them! They were just the cutest,โ€ Ana said. โ€œThey wanted love so desperately. They were so friendly. They were not fearful or timid. They had big smiles; they were so excited. They had no idea what was going on, but they were so happy.โ€

Ana named her new babies Patty and Pepper, and she is fostering them until theyโ€™re ready to go to their furever home. She will be sad to see them go, but there are so many other dogs who need her help! Apparently, the two pups have a close relationship, with Ana saying:

โ€œThey are so bonded, they really stick together. Their demeanor is very sweet. They are always looking at every detail.โ€

The number of stray dogs keeps on rising, thankfully, the number of kind people who are willing to help these poor pooches is also on the rise. These dogs donโ€™t deserve to be on the streets, where a lot of danger awaits them. No dog deserves to starve and die because of hunger.

We are all thankful and grateful for selfless people like Ana who would wholeheartedly keep these paw cuties safe and sound. We are all hoping that theyโ€™d meet their forever homes and families very soon.
