Dogs don’t think like humans, they live in the present moment and just want to have fun. Sometimes, they can’t resist something like a pool, regardless of what obstacles they’re facing. This golden retriever is in a wheelchair battling cancer, but nothing could stop him from taking a dip in the pool with his best bud!
He even plowed over a pool-side chair and took it with him.
Lion is a playful golden retriever who is battling cancer which has left him in a wheelchair. Despite the illness, he’s still determined to have some fun
The brave, 11-year-old golden retriever lives in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, at a bed and breakfast with a loving family and his best friend Taiia. On this sunny day last January, he was lugging around his wheelchair still with a smile on his face when something hilarious happened.
Lion and Taiia, have and Instagram page @goldentaiia, where their family posts adorable pictures and hilarious videos. In this particular video, Lion proves to us that we can still have fun no matter what predicament we find ourselves in.
When Lion saw Taiia enjoying a nice swim in the pool, he decided he couldn’t let her have all the fun! That’s when you see the precious pooch start running for the pool
As soon as you see Lion take off, you know exactly what’s going on. His babysitter, Monica, frantically tries to catch up to him, not knowing what will happen with his wheelchair attached.
Monica doesn’t stand a chance, Lion has made up his mind and is determined to go swimming with Taiia. Once he gets to the edge of the pool, the only thing standing in his way is a pool-side chair which he begins plowing through.
Since she can’t stop him, Monica decides she can at least get the chair out of the way so his wheelchair doesn’t get tangled. After she pulls the chair, Lion goes diving headfirst into the pool
With his wheelchair still attached, Lion pretty much does a somersault into the swimming pool. You can hear the laughter of his owner in the background as the spunky golden retriever jumps right in with a smile on his face. Even though he’s in a wheelchair, the funny dog is still a great swimmer!
Lion wiggles right out of his wheelchair as soon as he hits the water, swimming over to Taiia with the happiest expression on his lovable face.
The video went viral on Instagram, with already over 86k people viewing it and hundreds leaving comments for the hysterical dog
It’s no surprise that Lion went viral, how could you not love that face? When you add in the frisky antics, his cute level just goes through the roof. On the Instagram page, you can see how much the people at the bed and breakfast love Lion and Taiia. I’m definitely staying there if I ever find myself in Rio De Janeiro.
