Being a celebrity isn’t all glitz and glam, you’re constantly under a microscope making it impossible to live a normal life. You don’t get to have a bad hair day when you’re famous, instead, every little move you make is judged and any unflattering picture is blown way out of proportion!
When this internet troll posted a side by side of Brendan Fraser trying to shame him, people immediately came to his defense and put the troll in their place!
Someone tries to shame Brendan Fraser for looking ‘deteriorated,’ but the internet comes to his rescue
Brendan Fraser is a movie icon, you probably know him from his leading role in The Mummy movies series. He’s starred in over 40 movies, also starring in the academy award-winning movie, Crash.
The A-list actor has also had his fair share of hardships, including a messy divorce from his ex-wife in which he was ordered to pay a ridiculous $900,000 a year in alimony. People felt for the poor guy, and they let it be known to the would-be troll!
“I think about this a lot.” That’s what the caption said and people weren’t happy!
Shaming is a huge problem on the internet, luckily, people came to Fraser’s defense
After the side by side photo mocking Brendan Fraser was posted, people all over jumped to the actor’s aide!
“People grow old? Like, that’s a thing that happens? Leave my guy alone.” One user said sarcastically.
One user went into depth about the series of unfortunate things that happened to Fraser, things that weren’t his fault:
“Ok…This is what happened to Fraser
-His wife ditched him and asked for 900k a year,
-He was sexually assaulted which he said kicked him into a deep depression
-He stated that the stunts from the 3rd Mummy movie destroyed his body and he was in and out of the hospital for 7 years even having to get surgery to repair his vocal cords
-He apparently blamed himself for all this which only worsened his depression
This man has been through hell in the past decade so please let’s cut him some clack and wish him the best”
I bet the person who tried to shame him wasn’t feeling so cool after that, another user had some choice words for the shamer:
“All this but also that picture on the right is a really bad paparazzi photo compared with a professional quality movie promo still. No one looks good when some random person snaps you on the street, regardless of who you are.
Compare with this image from the GQ article last February:
Proper lighting, professional setting, good angles, etc.
The dude is 49 and has had a rough couple of decades, but he’s still lovely to look at, and I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.” One user pointed out.
The Femburton Tumblr account that posted the body-shaming nonsense has been deactivated
Brendan Fraser should an inspiration to everyone, his strength and humility are qualities not everyone has. His interview in GQ was heartfelt and amazing, I encourage everyone to check it out!
