Each year, millions of parents lie to their children and blackmail them into behaving well in exchange for being put on Santa’s “nice” list.

There’s even a holiday song that warns children of Santa’s “list” and that they better be good so they wind up on the right side of that list.

You know the one… “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.” In recent years, parents around the world have even enlisted the help of Santa’s elves to act as 24-7 spies for Santa. These elves, like Elf on a Shelf, are placed in homes from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve to monitor the behavior of the children.

If the children misbehave, the elves make sure they report their bad behavior right away. But it’s Santa who ultimately decides who will be put on his “naughty” list to received a lump of coal or his “nice” list to receive presents on Christmas morning.

Rachel is one little girl who is definitely on Santa’s “nice” list.

And with Rachel’s intervention, she hopes that her brother will be on that list too. But first, she had to do a little convincing. Rachel’s little brother had been naughty all day long and their mother explained that this would likely land him on the “naughty” list.

But Rachel would have nothing of the sort! She begged and begged her mother to make a plea to Santa’s elves so that her little brother would be put on Santa’s “nice” list. And she’s pretty convincing!

“I think he’s on the naughty list,” Rachel’s mother says. “He’s been awful naughty tonight.”

“No!” the headstrong little girl tells her mother. “I don’t want him.”

When her mother asks why she doesn’t want her brother to be on the “naughty” list, she has the sweetest response.

“Because I’m his big sister!” she says. “It means I don’t want him too! I don’t want him to!”

Rachel’s mom asks Rachel what she wants her to do about it.

“I want him to be on the good list. Change him on the good list,” she tells her mom directly.

Rachel acknowledges that her mother doesn’t make the list and it’s Santa that calls the shots.

So, she asks her mom to put in a good word for her brother with the elves.

“The elves do that! They do. I want my brother to be on the good list!” she says.

Finally, her mother agrees and says she’ll call the elves a little bit later. This little girl is as kind as she is cute! You can watch her adorable plea in the video below.
