There are people who go out of their way to make life a little easier for others, then there are those who decide to do the exact opposite. You know, the ones youโd swear were just born to rain on everybody elseโs parade.
Youโll be shocked at how the latter responds to an act of kindness.
Hereโs a perfect example thatโll cause you to cringe and shake your head in disbelief.
A swimming instructor who goes by the Reddit handle pretent_its_witty shared screenshots of an appalling conversation she had with a single mom who actually called her out for giving swimming lessons for free. Yes, you read that right. Brace yourself!
Instead of expressing gratitude and appreciation for the instructorโs thoughtfulness towards eager learners and their parents, she decided to be the dark cloud and loom over her gesture.
That, and demand that she be given the money the swimming instructor could have been making from all those lessons.
Unbelievable. While everyone else applauds her for being so kind (and generous with her time!), this woman decided something had to be done. She reached out to the swimming instructor via WhatsApp and, along with her ridiculous requests, also demanded she replies to the messages instantly.
Horrible and entitled, she also asked for free lessons at a time thatโs not convenient for the instructor, as well as exclusive lessons for her son for an entire month.
Are you fuming yet? Apart from expecting free lessons, the single mom also expects the instructor to comply just to keep the kid happy. One canโt help but wince at the thought that her son might grow up to be just as rude and entitled as she is because of the way she chooses to do things.

Then she makes things even worse by resorting to name-calling and making even more absurd demands, like her son having to borrow the instructorโs goggles since she canโt afford to buy one just yet.
You have to hand it to the swimming instructor. Her replies reflect just how awesome her personality is despite all the terrible things said to her via the messaging app.
The single mom kept bombarding the instructor with messages until the latter decided she wasnโt worth entertaining anymore.
Itโs like she was blaming the swimming instructor for having more time, for the other parentโs decision to take advantage of the free lessons, and more.
She persisted until it turned into a full-blown rant despite not receiving any more replies.
Reddit users couldnโt help but react to the single momโs audacity, with some especially curious about how the swimming instructor would handle other possible situations involving the single mom and her son.
The swimming instructor deserves to be applauded for the way she handled the single momโs belligerence. Where many others would have immediately fired back, the instructor chose to take the moral high road.
This is a strong reminder for everyone not to let your circumstances affect your choices (and those around you) negatively, to try and always be the bigger person in every situation, and choose kindness over everything else.
