Simone Biles has set yet another world record as the most decorated female gymnast ever. This time, she has broken the record for the most amount of World Gymnastics Championship Medals. I would say I’m surprised, but I’m really not that shocked.

Simone Biles is the best. Her athletic ability is other-worldly, and after watching a couple of floor exercise videos, it’s no surprise that she is praised as one of the best athletes to ever exist.

But all good things must come to an end. The Guardian reports that this was likely her last World Championships.

On October 13, Biles won the beam and floor finals at the World Championships.

Simone Biles actually won the gold medal in all the event finals as well as the all-around medal and team medal. The U.S superwoman won six medals in one World Championships. That is highly impressive.

Although Biles is proud of all her accomplishments at the Championships, she is most proud of her success on the balance beam.

Biles fell off the beam at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

She still won a bronze medal in the event, but she lost a lot of her confidence on the apparatus. Winning the Gold on Balance Beam and proving to the world that she is capable of overcoming her difficulties. Simone Biles commented on this saying:

“It meant a lot because Cecile [Landi, beam coach] has really been working on bringing my confidence back up to where it used to be on the beam. To go out there and nail the routine, just like I do in practice, it felt really good and I knew she was really proud.”

This also meant that she now has 19 gold medals to her name. Her most notable accomplishment is probably this consistent success.

Biles has taken the world by storm, and she is not slowing down until Tokyo 2020.

Simone Biles is now training for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Team USA has had success in the previous two Olympics, taking home the team Gold in 2012 and 2016. It doesn’t look like 2020 is going to be any different.

Biles competes on another level. She literally invents new skills so that she could be challenged.

Speaking of new moves…

Ever wonder how someone could score so much higher than her fellow competitors? Well…Simone Biles has two skills named after her on the floor exercise.

The first one includes a double layout flip with a half twist. It’s very difficult to do, and Simone was the first female gymnast to successfully complete it at a World Championship.

The second skill includes two flips in the tucked position with a triple twist. This is an unbelievably difficult move that had only been performed by men before this year. When I watched it for the first time, I thought she turned off gravity for a second.

Simone Biles is still breaking records.

This woman is a living legend. And she definitely lives up to the legend. Look at her go! Off to break more records.
