Elephants are beautiful, majestic creatures. They are also one of the smartest, most compassionate animals on the planet. Sadly — many people don’t treat them with the respect that they deserve.
Wild elephants are usually very leery of humans, so when one of them walked up to a car driving through the safari asking for help, something had to be horribly wrong.
While some wildlife veterinarians were taking a drive in their SUV through the safari, an elephant, who they call Pretty Boy, calmly walked up to them as they drove by. It seemed very unusual. But then the doctors noticed something that stunned them all.
The gorgeous elephant had been shot in the head; the bullet hole was in the center of the poor thing’s forehead. Some, the elephant had survived the harrowing ordeal.
Doctors noticed the bullet hole in the elephant’s head and quickly went into action to provide medical attention.
The doctors tranquilized the massive animal to give him an x-ray in order to accurately assess the injury. The x-ray revealed that there was a “deformed bullet” lodged in its skull. The doctors said it was centimeters away from being a “kill shot.”
After being tranquilized, the dazed and relaxed animal let the doctors get a closer look at the wound. They had to act right away.
The wildlife veterinarians performed surgery on the spot — removing the bullet from Pretty Boy’s head.
After the surgery was completed, they cleaned the wound with antibiotics and antibacterial medications. Their work was done just in time; the elephant wouldn’t have survived much longer. Thankfully — he was going to be okay.
The lucky elephant was still very groggy with a massive headache. So, he decided to take a nap against a tree to recuperate. After a while, Pretty Boy was able to get back up and be on his way.
This regal creature was able to get help from the right people, at the right place, at the right time. The video of Pretty Boy’s story is below.
