Bulldogs donโ€™t really strike us as the most agile breed. Theyโ€™re often noted for taking things easy โ€“ and even being a little stubborn.

With their stocky build, they are probably the last breed youโ€™ll think about when it comes to speed and agility.

At first glance, youโ€™d think that Von Rudolph Augustus Perkins is just another laid-back bulldog. He looked so chill and relaxed with his human, Debra Perkins, while waiting for their turn at the course.

But when Debra gave Rudy the signal, he shot off like lightning.

He lept through hoops and ran up the ramps without any signs of fear. He was so focused and fast that it was hard to believe this stocky little guy was tackling his obstacles so well!

And the best part? Rudy looked so happy as he was going through the course! He was smiling all the way to the end.

Debra even had to hustle to keep up with her bulldog.

She was giving directions along the way, ensuring that Rudy was able to finish the course in the shortest possible time.

However, there was one minor glitch.

Rudy got a bit over-excited and got confused about which way to go, and as Debra tried to guide him, he jumped through her legs instead.

Everyone who saw his rockstar performance was super impressed.

โ€œRudy wasnโ€™t there just to compete, he was there to crush stereotypes about Bulldogs.โ€

One viewer praised Rudyโ€™s owner.

โ€œThis bulldog is in great shapeโ€ฆ.not your ordinary bulldogโ€ฆ..one that moves as fast and as athletic as Rudy is rare. Great ownership I must say.โ€

An agility competition is a sporting event for dogs where different breeds go through obstacles.

They are judged based on accuracy and speed. The courses are particularly designed to measure a dogโ€™s level of conditioning, athletic ability, and willingness to work with his owner.

To win the competitions, the dogs need to navigate around obstacles, charge through upright poles, and run through tunnels.

Because of how the courses are set up, the dogs will need their owners to guide them throughout the competition. Dogs who are well-trained wonโ€™t have too many problems following verbal prompts and hand signals.

When it comes to agility, Border Collie, Jack Russell Terrier, Australian Shepherd, Standard Poodle, and Sheltie are the top breeds.

You donโ€™t always get to see bulldogs excelling in agility.

Rudy, however, is a clear exception. Heโ€™s way too fast. And adorable to top it off.
