What kind of monster could just abandon puppies in the middle of nowhere? Thank goodness these brothers found them in time

When Briggs LocHaven and his brother Chris Vanness were on a road trip driving from Arizona to Colorado, they figured it would be just them and the open road.

They were in the middle of nowhere on a remote highway and if they were going to see anything it would probably be tumbleweed or a car.

However, the brothers were absolutely shocked when the saw two furry little heads crossing the desolate road.

At first, they figured they were just catching a glimpse of a wild animal. After getting a closer look, they realized that those furry little heads were actually two poor little puppies.

“At first we thought they were prairie dogs, until we got closer and were able to see exactly what they were,” Vanness told The Dodo. “Then we stopped and got out of the car to check on them.”

The two little puppies had been abandoned “literally in the middle of nowhere,” according to Vanness, and were in desperate need of some love and attention.

“They were friendly and severely dehydrated and starving and out hearts just sank. We didn’t have to capture them – they literally jumped in out car,” he explained. “We were speechless and our only thought was we need to get these guys some food and water and bath.”

Thankfully, the brothers were smart enough to know that they should slowly feed and hydrate the pups so their sickly bodies weren’t overwhelmed.

“I can’t believe someone just left them out there,” one of the brother’s said in a video they shot. “Poor little guys. Well, we just got ourselves some puppies!”

People on social media couldn’t believe it either.

“You guys are awesome!!! Thank you… they deserve better than to be dumped in the middle of nowhere!” said one commenter on Facebook.

“It breaks my heart to think that someone dumped them,” said another. “I’m so glad you found them!”

The two little puppies were more than grateful, to say the least.

They had a blast with the two brothers for the rest of the way on the road trip. And when their trip was done, the brothers passed to the two puppies onto a friend who rescues dogs.

Not only did they find a happy and loving new home, but the puppies got to stay together. And even better than that, their new home had another foster dog so they got a brand new brother or sister.

“They both have found an amazing home and family with [another] rescue dog! And they get to stay together!” LocHaven said. “Makes my heart warm and happy!”
