There’s almost nothing more adorable than animal friendships, especially when they’re unlikely friends like these two. This mini horse and goose become best friends until they’re eventually adopted together and start a new life at their forever home.
These two are the cutest friends ever!
Waffles and Hemmingway are a mini horse and goose who became BFF’s at the Bucks County SPCA and got adopted together
They were both brought to the Aminal Rescue in Bucks County, PA, where the two quickly became friends and were totally inseparable. Any time they would be taken apart, one or the other would throw a fit to get back with his new friend.
Maddi and Nick are the farm owners who fell in love with the mini horse and his goose bestie. One day while visiting the shelter, Maddi saw Waffles and he immediately reminded her of her own horse Peabody. The couple filled out an application to adopt them both and soon they were taking them home.
“When I saw them I was like ‘oh my gosh, they’re about to be part of the family,’ and then my next thought was ‘oh please like me.'” Maddi told The Dodo.

The goose is very protective and attached to his mini horse best friend, so when they take him away from him he begins throwing a fit but they’re reunited again a short time later.
That’s when the goose and mini horse are introduced to their new home, where the two friends can spend the rest of their days together. At first glance, Waffles gives some happy grunts for his spacious new home and Maddi jumps for joy.

Even Maddi’s full-grown horse Peabody gets the chance to meet his new friends, she walks him to their stall for an introduction and he jumps with excitement.
What a dream come true for Waffles and Hemmingway, they’ve never been pampered like this before. Next, Maddi brings her new favorite goose to a swimming pool she filled just for him.

I never thought I’d be able to tell whether a goose was happy or not, but that’s one happy goose. Hemmingway splashes in the water, flapping his wings in excitement for his new pool.
One thing for sure, Hemmingway and Waffles are adorable and so happy to be in their forever home together. People couldn’t get enough of the goose and mini horse besties, internet users from all around the world were touched by their story.
