Dogs have different behaviors and some families would prefer to have a dog with a perfect temperament that will fit into a home. But what about those dogs who just love to wreak havoc upon every single thing they come across? Hiring them a trainer would probably cost a lot, and it would take some time for them to finally have the attitude for your child and pet-friendly home.

A woman from Colorado, KaTarra Taylor, happened to find a certain โ€˜destructive, aggressive, and untrustingโ€™ pooch at a shelter and immediately fell in love with him. She decided to take the pooch home, and she hoped her boyfriend would also accept him, and shower him with love.

Her boyfriend was not too fond of dogs, but the moment KaTarra introduced him to her new pup, everything changed.

โ€œI took him in at 4,โ€ KaTarra said. โ€œI was his 5th home and everyone had given up on him. He was destructive, aggressive, and untrusting. I was in a 1 bedroom apartment but I couldnโ€™t let him go back to the rescue again after not doing well at my parents home. I worked tirelessly to leash train him, treat his anxiety, diagnose and treat his severe allergies, and break his aggression.โ€

It seems like it took one 120-pound dog to make KaTarra Taylorโ€˜s boyfriend know why having a dog is so wonderful. He was surprisingly open to the idea of keeping Bentley, a Bloodhound dog, into their homes. But their yard is a bit small for him, and they knew that they had to move somewhere bigger and have a backyard makeover just for him.

Bentley wasnโ€™t what youโ€™d call the easiest of dogs to care for. He had lots of behavioral issues, no doubt coming from a difficult past, and KaTarra was still in the process of training him, calming his anxiety, and breaking his aggression. It was hard, especially when they were living in a small space. They then bought a townhouse, which they thought was sufficient enough for them and Bentley. She said:

โ€œI had to move and couldnโ€™t find a single rental in the stupid city that would take my 120lb bloodhound โ€ฆ so I bought a townhouse. The whole time heโ€™s been with me heโ€™s never had his own yardโ€ฆ just the park and the grass on our walksโ€ฆโ€

The backyard began as a simple slab of concrete, but KaTarraโ€™s selfless boyfriend stepped in and did something special for her beloved pooch.

โ€œWell this weekend my awesome boyfriend worked his ass off to build Bentley his yard. For the dog he hatesโ€ฆ Weโ€™re so lucky,โ€ KaTarra said.

Their friends and other people showed a positive reaction seeing what theyโ€™ve done with their backyard. Everything was just seemingly perfect to nurture a dog like Bentley.

Though KaTarraโ€™s boyfriend claimed that he wasnโ€™t too fond of dogs, it is amazing how he pulled off such an effort for Bentley. It just shows that actions speak louder than words.
