An injured dog was left lying alone along the side of the road for over 24 hours until someone decided to call for help. A passerby noticed the dog up against a curb, unable to move, and contacted the rescue organization Hope For Paws. A kind volunteer named Eldad responded. He posted a video of the rescue on his YouTube channel and it is quite heartbreaking to watch.
First, Eldad drove around the neighborhood where the dog was reported being seen until he finally located the poor pup.
By this point, the animal was in a pretty sad state. She had been essentially left for dead.
It is likely that a car hit her and then kept on driving, but there she was, a full day later and still hanging on.
Eldad came just in the nick of time.
He speculated when he got there that the dog had a broken pelvis, as she was very weak and unable to move at all.
Eldad knew he had to be careful in how he transported her.
He carefully slid the little dog onto a blanket and carried her back to his vehicle.
“I decided to name her Lady,” Eldad said.
Lady was rushed to the veterinarians’ office for someone to take a look at her.
Eldad told them Lady’s story, and immediately the vets went to work.
The X-rays confirmed Eldad’s suspicion — Lady had a broken pelvis.
The pup was in so much pain that at first that they couldn’t even give her a bath. However, after surgery and spending lots of time in recovery, they were eventually able to get her all fixed up.
At the end of the video, they show how well Lady is doing now and it’s a beautiful moment. She looks like a completely different dog!
They have her all properly groomed and the little pup excitedly runs around the yard. She is so playful, and it is a complete 180 from when Eldad first found her and she could barely move.
In the meantime, she was even able to make some new friends. She can be seen playing with a bunch of other dogs, as well as several people at an event the Hope For Paws put on after the fact to raise awareness of animal rescue issues.
Their partner organization L.A Animal Rescue was also able to find Lady a forever home.
Now, she never has to worry about being left out in the streets to fend for herself ever again.
If it wasn’t for the organization’s quick response when they received the phone call about the injured dog along the side of the road, it is likely Lady never would have survived.
Eldad saved a life that day, and really, it’s a miracle that this beautiful pup is now doing so well. They didn’t know if Lady was going to make it, but she made an amazing recovery. It’s a sad story, with a very happy and fortunate ending. Our thanks go out to Eldad and Hope For Paws for all of the great work that they do.
