With all of the COVID restrictions still in place, people have been finding creative ways to continue on with their day-to-day schedule.
For one group of dancers in the Netherlands, that meant having dance classes outside in the park with a six-foot distance from each other.
Fiek Vdh, the dance instructor, decided that the outdoor setting for the dance class would be a great way to stay active and enjoy the beautiful weather.
As she led her class through the moves that they had been practicing together, she received some surprise guests.
And these guests weren’t your average two-legged dancers.
In fact, they each had six legs–if you count the horse and his rider as one dancer, that is.
According to Inspire More, two cops that were patrolling the park rode up to the dance class to check it out.
And not only did they check it out, but they decided to join in as well.
Unbeknownst to the other dancers in the group, the two horses and their riders begin trying to follow along with the steps as the song plays.
Of course, salsa is a tough-enough dance to learn on two legs, let alone four.
While the horses do their best to keep up, the class of unsuspecting humans continues on, never missing a beat.
When a couple of the dancers do realize what is going on, they turn back and give the cops and their horses some encouraging smiles.
The person filming the class calls out to Fiek to let her know that she has some surprise company.
She turns around as well and smiles as the horses clomp along to the music.
She was so excited in fact, that she decided to share the story on her Facebook page.
Fiek writes, “Last night I did a salsa lesson in the Zuiderpark The Hague. Two police officers on horse came by and decided to join a dance! Great and what an enthusiasm.”
The video took off and gained over 3k shares and was liked by 2.5k people.
According to Animal Channel, Ziek acknowledged the success of her post by saying, “One week ago I posted a video of me and my friends to which we danced salsa, with company of two police officers on horseback. A special and unique situation, which especially gave and radiated lots of fun. A positive vibe, in this (still) weird time.
I asked y’all to share the video and this was done massively. Now we are one week further and the video has continued all of Europe and even out there like America. Multiple media platforms were interested in this video. Bizarre and incredibly amazing 😁
I want to thank you for sharing, because of you this video went viral. Without you, this wouldn’t be possible!
Thank you so much! Thank you very much! Muchas gracias!”
We’re also thankful that the video was shared and liked by so many people so that it was able to reach us.
If you’ve never seen a horse try and dance salsa before, then you are in for a treat.
Check out the video below and if you own a horse, you may want to consider taking him to your local salsa studio for some lessons of his own.
